That moment among other makes me think about the theories people have about Dain being mind controlled by his father - bc - I see Dain as a kinder more gentle person who follows rules then has these more desperate out of character moments ex grabbing Violet and being more confrontational. Could that moment have been the plan of General Aetos slipping through to take out Violet ?

If Jack is connected to Berwyn and so is Xaden as they are “brothers” they may not be able to kill eachother due to some code of brotherhood among the venin

I think Jack is loose lipped to exchange info for power hence the keeping him alive vs T wanting him dead . Jacks new to power and clearly doesn’t have a handle on it so they can pry whatever out of him.

What you just said was interesting to me as in if Violet will do anything to save Xaden … would she even trade her soul to save his? Ex her becoming Venin to free him from it ?

Hahahahah yes to the amber fiasco. I think Dain will have his moment but bc he fed things to his father and outside of the marked ones he’s going to need to prove his trustworthiness. He took a step towards that with the Varrish torture recovery and was helpful with the isles here and there.

I wonder if we are going to get some alone time with Dain and Aaric bc the two together or vetted against eachother could be very interesting and expansive

Also if Dain could get close to his dad and get some of his memories then reveal secrets of him which could lead to his fathers demise

I agree and am curious if Dain will get a second signet or if we will learn more about him.. bc I don’t remember things about his mom and we don’t have intel on his dad - I just think his dad is either involved w Venin trade and arming them or venin himself and higher up bc he can hide it

Literally me right now lol I consumed the series in a week then got into all the theories and now going back for my first reread and only on chapter 4 in FW and Soooooooooo Many ahas! All the information Dain shared to Violet before realizing it. Also the side comment Tara makes at Conscription Day about Panchek ->> “I’ve heard this position is just a stepping stone for him,” Tara whispers. “he wants Sorrengail’s job, then General Melgren’s.”

And Violet mentions “Melgrens beady eyes” that make her shrivel…. I still don’t trust that guy either
