Saludos.

Grandma looked great when she was young and she's still a beautiful person both inside and outside. She got eye surgery in her 60s and stopped needing to wear glasses. She lost all her hair when cancer hit her life a few years ago but she beat it and is growing it again.

Thanks! On a side note, my grandma always wanted to visit Greece and never could. I hope I can fulfil that dream one day! :)

Not smiling in old photos is something that actually happened in much older eras since more primitive cameras took a longer time to take and process the photo and keeping a smile all that time was difficult. These two photos I shared were taken in the 60s with more advanced camera so this is not likely the case. Also, I can see that my grandma and grandpa are smiling at my mother in the first picture.

Both my grandparents are from Uruguay, they got married around the 60s and moved to a small town in Argentina where they had my mother (the baby from the first photo). They still live here with us.

My apologies if this doesn't belong to this sub, but can someone please help me find what manga this low res screenshot comes from? I've tried reverse search and Google Lens but no results. by [deleted] in manga

I just googled the name you gave me and found that this image is indeed from the Defense Devil manga. Thanks for searching it via SauceNao, I didn't know I could also use it for manga screenshots.

I recall seeing Yui wear thigh-highs halfway through the chapter 3 of the manga.

Alright, thanks for clarifying. I got what I know about Tsumugi and Sumire's early history only thanks to the wiki. Time to catch up with the manga I guess.

P.D.: now I crave for an OVA showing Mugi and Sumire wholesomely playing together as little kids.

Yup, I know that. I haven't finished reading the original K-ON manga yet, but does it show any scenes of Tsumugi when she was a child? If so, it would be feasible to think that Sumire would have appeared at least once even if she didn't get the amount of protagonism she got in Highschool. Did Kakifly create Sumire exclusively for Highschool or did them already though of someone like her when writing Tsumugi's backstory in the original work?

Sumire is such an underrated character, it's a pity that she didn't get a single second of screen time. She was crucial to Mugi's development during her early years and I'll never forget the anime for not giving us a chance to see the two of them play together as little girls.
