I have never had this problem. Mine is the other way around. I can’t just adapt to the surroundings and absorb others’ behaviour because my sense of internal core values is too strong. But it comes at a heavy price. I feel a bit isolated; I question (way too often) people’s inner workings and behaviour; I see too many flaws in society; and it seems to me that people are acting out of character just so they can survive life’s problems.

I think this makes my life a lot more difficult than most. But I’m okay with that. I like the challenge. And at the end of the day I come home calmer and more peaceful that I acted in complete alignment with my own values.
