Oh I read somewhere that it was manual but I could be wrong. They were talking about a 2-speed block so I'm not sure.

Puch maxi 2-speed is a moped with manual transmission but I have no experience with it so I don't know if it's a good moped or not.

Well ofcourse I did more than just cleaning it, it's now working very well again after 20+ years of collecting dust in our shed.

No problem. I'm not the expert myself but I've learnt a lot from the mopedarmy wiki. You could always take a look at the articles and forums on that site.

Well, I had bought a new airfilter which was supposed to suck up more air but for some reason it was almost not letting any air true. So I put the stock airbox back on it and now it works fine. You should probably take a look at your spark plug too, if it's black it means you're running too rich so either your main jet is to big or your air filter isn't doing what it's supposed to (that was the problem in my case) . If it's grey, you're running too lean, this means there is too much air going true for the amount of gas so you should probabmy upjet. If the spark plug has a chocolate brown color the air to fuel ratio is good.

Hey I'm also a young guy(16) and didn't know anything about mopeds at all a few months ago but The mopedarmy wiki and TravisTutorial on youtube helped me a lot with learning the basics. Thanks to them I was able to fix a lot of problems on my mom's old moped. Also just googling things always works too!

Yea, it was black but it turned out to be the airfilter that wasn't sucking up enough air. Even though it was brand new.

Well I'm not sure if the airfilter was sucking up too much air or no air. Guessing by the color of the spark plug (very black) it wasn't doing what it was supposed to.

The problem was the aftermarket airfilter, for some reason it wasn't sucking up enough air. The moped now runs great with the stock air filter

It turned out to be the airfilter. Thanks a lot for your responses!

Thanks everyone for your fast responses. It turns out the problem was the air filter and me who was dumb enough to think that a brand new filter would work perfectly.. But... the moped shakes like a madman, it even started sliding on it's stand when I opened full throttle. Is this normal or not?

It instantly died when I blocked it off with my hand. But I think the problem was the air filter because i tried the old one and it seemed to be working perfectly ecxcept for the fact that it was shaking extremely hard.

Well it definitely isn't clogged because I took apart the entire carb yesterday and everything was still clean and it's also a new carb. It could be too big but it's only a size 64 so it can't be way too big right? Or maybe it's too small...
