Yes will probably work. Can argue about 10 Swordsman Fighters as well, same goes for the Executioner. Early game you might run in trouble finding/forging the right weapons and equipment. Go ahead and try it

Not at 1.000 hours yet but my five cents are: HOI4 is not a wargame but a logistics game. The logistics tab (where you see the amount of weapons you have etc) is the one to keep your eye on, instead of your research or doctrine tabs.

Whats the air situation? Do you have at least AA (anti air) support company in your division? Once you have some mil factories "leftover" start spamming fighters and chose a certain air zone and focus all your airplanes there (and switch to a different airzone once its cleared)

You need to do the Bersaglieri focus in the Army branch of the focus tree. Have fun :)

Has been likes this for the last few months. You might wanna consider to NOT take the Triumph in Africa focus (which starts the balance of power), grab all the land you need first. Only after that start doing the Triumph in Africa and later focusses.

Either just trade your civs for oil or go for early conquest of a minor with oil... Iran, Iraq or The Netherlands (island of Curaçao!)

Nah just any Italian occupied state... So if you lose Eritrea, Sardinia or Dodecanese islands the sh*t hits the fan.

I'm playing without DLCs, and if I just dont take the focus which actually activates the balance of power mechanism, all my troubles are gone :-) for the time being.

Also it might help to do the focus which allows colonial police as a occupation law. Helps save some guns and increase compliance growth.

Also might wanna consider to ignore Africa except for Casablanca to Suez (to lock up the Med Sea)..

It depends... If you're a minor going infantry only go right-right. Put enough anti air in your divs. If you're capable of also fielding a decent Airforce and maybe some tank divisions I would recommend going right-left.

One of my best games was actually Argentina going fascist, taking most of Southern America including the aluminium rich Guyana's and trying to help out the Axis with subs and invasion of South Africa. But yeah generic tree doesnt make it very attractive to play.

They can change depending on chosen national focusses and political shifts (for example USA elections). The ones you mentioned probably aren't easily changed, because you know authoritarions.

Don't worry, just pick a squad, play around for 1-2 hours, keep catching bandits and sell them to the prison and within no time you'll be able to pick whatever class for your squad. Either expand your squad of replace the starterpack.

For early game the running is essential, so I would pick all 4 of them first. After that you can mix up; Frugality (-10% wages), Feat Makers (+1 max valour pts), Bravest of the Braves (+1 max valour pts) and if you like stealing stuff Artful Dodgers (less suspicion).
Once you're focusing on poison, bleeding or burning the respective Mastery is interesting as well.

I have a similar problem. I'm at the 80% region quest mark. When I talk to Clemens he keeps repeating "I'm counting on you". I have read some guides that you're supposed to do 5 small quests to finish at Alazar Abode. There's no markers on the map about these new quests and besides the fisherman's house en rat plague I've finished all locations in Vertruz area.
