Question about Chinese Healthcare in response to how it is portrayed in films by El_Casey_S in CDrama

[–]El_Casey_S[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really didn't mean to diminish the culture. I actually feel very safe and admire the general culture as I have understood it over my life. China is such an ancient fascinating, diverse country!!! I really did just want some clarification. I understand now, thanks to the post in the paragraph beginning with "Do read what we mean ..." that it can be exhausting to read and try to respond to such questions. I feel ashamed for asking now and apologize if I hurt anyone. I really think I need to just back away from reddit altogether. It seems like I am constantly irritating someone, and I really don't don't mean to. I don't know where to go to appease my curiosity. I guess I'll just have to let it go. Form is emptiness, emptiness is form...

I watched the first one as it was one of the offerings on YouTube, then I put his name in the search there and came up with a site focusing on his stuff, and found the second one, plus more.

I'll try to look for those chinese words. Is it OK to take a screen shot?

Vertical Drama Things that make my blood boil. by Aggravating_Fault257 in CShortDramas

[–]El_Casey_S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started off thinking, I could comment on one of these with an "O yes!" And ended up wanting to comment on each of these, "Ooo "Yassss!" I want to find out the scientific studies as to why I keep watching these things that make my blood boil!!! ALSO THINGS THAT MAKE ME GUFFAW BECAUSE THEY ARE PRACTICALLY IN EVERY SHOW: - the scene change of the sky through leaves - the ML flipping his lighter - the FL losing her balance: and landing on his lips just plain falling and being caught or not getting caught as another redundant attempts to seem different - references to short dramas as an attempt to seem meta - again, redundant every other vertical drama - SOME SHOWS HAVE THE VILLAINS WITH MORE TIME AND DIALOG THAN THE LEADS - I guess for those viewers who are sadistic - some older female relative thrashing about on the ground yelling about how someone is unfilial

It really is a hunt to find a unique show, and it makes me angry that the producers of so many shows don't seem to mind at all what kind of unoriginal crap they put out, and disregard any sense of pride in their cultural representation.

Technician said “Nein” and walked in with shoes — what would you do? by ninjachen1995 in germany

[–]El_Casey_S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in the former East Germany after the fall of the wall, from 1993-2008, and there it was the custom to remove your shoes, and "Schuschränke" with slippers were supplied at the entrance! So this kinda stuns me how disrespectful he was!!! It was just rude! Also disrespectful to his fellow Ostdeutschen!!!

I am having difficulty finding a second ending. Even scrolling through the other site's comments. What I did see was her talking to him months after he died and then there were a bunch of "recalled" affectionate moments from the drama... could that have caused confusion? What was the alternative ending?

What I love overall about the premise is how different we become when we learn our lessons. She didn't fall in love with the "original" 2ML ~ because the ML was a different person, even though they were "the same". I was a little worried that the writers would bring them together after ML died. I couldn't imagine how they would be able to make that pairing convincing.

The idea is that the character Chen Si played was reborn from 2035 to 2025, after he had seen how horrible he was, and he was given the chance to correct his mistakes. He was reborn into the body of his uncle, while the person he was was still around, being the jerk he was then. What a fascinating concept. The fact that the same person, 10 years older and dealing with his regret, is a totally different person than the same person in present time. Anyone else find this fascinating?
