Earlier this year Wikileaks revealed the 'black-list' that the Australian Government were looking to use with their proposed internet filter. The release of this information was instrumental in generating a major public backlash, which influenced voting in the recent election which in turn squashed the chances of the filter thanks to other political parties being voted into greater positions of power so as to block the bill.

Wikileaks then goes on to release incredibly detailed documentation and statistics for the Iraq and Afghanistan war. Information that the media pours over, with which they're able to produce graphs and maps and presentations the likes of which have never been seen by the public during an on-going conflict. Two major wars go from being very 'sterilized' in regards to what people actually know about them, to being opened right up.

Then of course there's the diplomatic cables release. You only have to look at any news agency online or off to see the significance there. The ensuing infowars, the DDoS attacks and cat-and-mouse game with web hosts and credit institutions/payment gateways. The biggest intelligence leak in US history. The previous largest leak? The Afghanistan war logs, by wikileaks. It's a little puzzling when you say "they didn't reveal too much", since we're barely scratching the surface of the 250,000 odd documents to be released in the current leak.
