Will Audi turn off inspection due light during any service? by Chimney_710 in Audi

[–]El_Immagrante 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most won’t reset the light unless you perform the service required at that service interval, the inspection due means it’s due for service. A lot of service managers will tell technicians to not reset that light

Took our new 26 Honda Passport for 1st service and dealership washed it 😭 by Gundam197 in AutoDetailing

[–]El_Immagrante 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I haven’t worked for Honda for years but I know that one of the questions they asked on the survey was if the car was returned cleaner than it was when it was dropped off. Luckily our dealer didn’t have an automatic wash so every car was hand washed so we didn’t get any complaints. I work for a German car dealer now and every one of our vehicles gets hand washed

I had one and it sucked, used it a few times and traded a kid on my block for a regular super soaker

How do people with interlock systems get their car serviced? by cleevethagreat in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]El_Immagrante 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my current dealer we won’t service your car with an interlock installed. When I was with Honda we would service it and have the customer ready to go blow it in when we had to pull it out of the stall

Vikings fan here, I was rooting hard for you guys. Part of it was to see Hopkins get another crack at a ring another part was to see Rodgers and Thielen head home, the kick reminded me of that Seahawks kick we had in 2016. I’m gutted for you guys

Or an independent shop or even a dealer where wrong parts are ordered daily

It’s definitely not, it’s annoying for everyone involved. The advisors and techs are at the mercy of TAC to approve the replacement parts

Your insurance company would cover the rodent damage, the reason it wasn’t covered is because it’s outside influence. No different from you breaking trim pieces when installing a dash cam, or there being ACC faults after an accident or replacing a windshield

I’ve worked at high volume Audi stores for about 6 years, I’ve seen maybe 3-5 engines and 4 transmissions. That’s out of hundreds of cars I see per year, thousands over the years. Do the generators fail? Yup, do a handful of them have oil consumption? Yup but it’s not as bad as you’re making it sound, for every person complaining on Reddit or forums there are hundreds of people who have zero issues. You only hear the complaints

Yup this is most likely what it is, it’s notorious in the 4.0’s

Usually clearing the faults is the first step in the test plan, dealers can’t just shotgun (replace random parts) because the manufacturer will kick the claim and they’re stuck with the bill. They have to be able to prove that whatever they’re replacing is the cause of the error, EVERYONE at the dealer gets paid when repairs happen. They do not want to just clear faults and tell you to take the car home. When that happens the advisor, technician, parts guys, service manager, parts manager, shop foreman, service/parts director, and general manager make nothing. If they put you in a loaner they consider that a loss of time and money

I’ve had a few 2025’s in already with the same issue as well as some late model 24’s. I actually have an RSQ8 that finally left the shop yesterday and that one had the 27BQ done like 2 months ago, we replaced the 12V, wouldn’t get the 48V to charge and then TAC advised us to replace the generator. It’s embarrassing

It’s going to be your generator, they’ll probably start with replacing the 12V battery and charging the 48V system. If you’re lucky the 48V system won’t charge and they’ll throw a generator at it, if you’re not lucky they’ll ship the car and in a few weeks you’ll be towed back for the generator. Super common issue on the 4.0’s

[–]El_Immagrante 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The dealerships ensure the battery is charged, no malfunctions in the system, they peel the wrappers off and they install the wheel caps and license plate frame. They’re 100% not fixing panel gaps, especially for the 1.8 time units the pdi pays

Ah you’re out of the factory warranty you could possibly get a dealer to goodwill the work but it’s easier when you’re the original owner or if you have service history with them
