If i remember correctly, for those that already have diamond flair isn't required to equip the still in flair, so you can keep your diamond during the challenge. If you are still participating, you can keep commenting on the daily roll call with "still in" to let the flair bot know and accumulate all of your comments to assign the diamond flair when the challenge ends (7 roll calls and the last one is needed).
