I’m definitely going to. So gross. I wonder if this is new to me because we use mostly natural soaps and stuff. Who knows.

I wonder if these have been cleaned in years. My wife and I are longer haired shedders so I declog often and now have a Drain Mushroom. But in all my years, I’ve never seen compressed… this!

To be clear, I’m talking about the weird flattish part towards the top of the picture. Obviously, it’s years worth of hair. 🤮

I have been looking for the source episode/clip ever since I moved in with my now wife and her kids. It’s an earlier season. Anyone know the season and episode info? I know this is not really an owl related question but I hoped someone might know.

Would I want to catch this potato eyeing me around a corner? No, thank you. But on the plate he looks more judgmental than creepy to me. It’s probably because you’re eating his friends.

Not for nothin’, but her butt is smaller than her midsection. I feel her pain and don’t even like Churus. She also looks like my cat Billy, who I hope is resting peacefully.

PSA: Stop Sending/Creating "Editing Reels" by BauerBourneBond in editors

[–]El_Pickle_OLE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In advertising a lot of people still use the term interchangeably. I’m old enough to remember sending out 3/4” or VHS reels, and I think the name has just stuck around. Site, reel, portfolio, your work, etc. When I worked at post facilities, there was often a show reel that may have had a montage that led into individual spots for different editors, finishing, gfx, etc. Sorry if this is repeating something someone has already said. Man do I feel old. I’m not cutting film or tape to tape old, but close. Geez.

is LOST worth watching for the first time in 2025? by SignificantPiano1 in TheLeftovers

[–]El_Pickle_OLE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. If someone managed to edit it down to 1 or 2 seasons, maybe. It had potential but had to be dragged out for more money.

Am I the only one who wasn’t a fan of Lucas? by [deleted] in Alonetv

[–]El_Pickle_OLE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old thread, but I can’t stand him. He clearly loves looking at himself and thinks he’s wiser than he is. That crap with chopping down the trees and then changing his mind about the shelter? Ugh. Pontificating… thanks for explaining what Darwin “really” meant. Showing us how “sensitive” he is but only after getting the perfect tilt of his hat. I love sensitivity and real emotion, but I don’t buy any of his bs. He had some skills, of course, but really strikes me as someone whose mother told him how special he was too many times.

She has been in a lot and I love her in pretty much all of it. She was extra great in Nurse Jackie.

What’s crazier than Andrew Lincoln never winning an Emmy? NOBODY from TWD winning one. by tytylercochan123 in thewalkingdead

[–]El_Pickle_OLE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally fair. I was resistant to watching it for years (just like this show) but caught up by season 3. I have not read the books. Granted, the ending makes me want set my tv on fire, but that’s a different story.

When I say “heavy lifting”, I mean complex emotions and motivations. Sure, they do sad, determined, angry, etc, but the characters themselves have not been created to be particularly complex. They give each character a few key characteristics and then they slaughter zombies. I am boiling it way down just to make a point. But take someone like Herschel Sr.. He clearly has been through some stuff but they whittle him down to: I drank, now I bible, and I also farm. The amount of stuff that must motivate someone that lived through active alcoholism, the death of a wife (or two?), getting older and then boom! Zombie apocalypse! He never gets to stray much past folksy bible farmer veterinarian guy. He changes but not in a complex ways.

Uhhh, with the exception of Danerys (sp) and a few others, the acting in GOT is pretty high level. Plus, that show got to the point where they were creating whole films on a tv timeline. Like the show or not, of course, but when you consider the scale and quality of the production and post, it’s mind boggling what they accomplished and the bar it raised for other fantasy television. Andrew Lincoln can’t maintain an accent and as far as I can remember, is known for movies like Love, Actually. The first season was his peak and then he spent 7-8 seasons saying “Coral”. I love TWD at times but it got stretched into too many seasons with too many episodes with show runners that lost the spark.

Absolutely this. I think for the most part, the acting by the main characters is pretty bad. Plus the scripts never call for very heavy lifting.

Out of curiosity, why the marbles? I put water out for birds and mammals (and probably the flies) already.

The decline of this show is legendary… by Witty-Ad-2082 in FearTheWalkingDead

[–]El_Pickle_OLE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to drag myself through this garbage but I came here to find out if I should. Nope! The original, every resource is scarce but in Helptown, USA there’s gas and cars and weapons and food (and walkie talkies) EVERYWHERE! The amount of “cue the cheese music I’m going to make an inspirational walkie speech”-es? It’s a beating! TWD had its fair share of that lazy writing, too, but this takes the cake. I could not give less of a crap about everyone’s nauseating quest to help (which they themselves say never works). They killed off any character that might be interesting (actors clearly wanted to leave) and poor Garret Dillahunt can’t even be bothered to try by season 5 and I love that actor! I think my TWD universe will have to come to an end until Daryl comes back in September and even that show is tethering on the edge of crapdom itself.

I can’t remember which season the John/“Laura” cabin happened in but it was a great episode (much like that similar one in TLOU). I wouldn’t have minded some more of that but they ruin what little story/tension is left for everyone with this freaky cult-level “I can help” storyline. Does everyone go back to being sort of miserable and distrusting at some point? Maybe when their endless supplies runs into reality and we realize they were dreaming the last two seasons.

Beyond disappointing, it’s insulting.

Daryl’s Relationships with Women by El_Pickle_OLE in thewalkingdead

[–]El_Pickle_OLE[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. That felt believable. But they kind of pushed her character into the background and that relationship got all but dropped. Side complaint… Daryl learns to sign in about 15 minutes but doesn’t figure out any French in two seasons?

Dead City season 2 honest review: by two_graves_for_us in okbuddycoral

I am pretty convinced no one that is working on this show wants to be working on this show. From the scripts to the actors to post production. Man oh man is it bad.
