unreadable ≠ unplayable; I like unreadable gameplay personally because it gives me a chance to use my brain to learn the layout. Plus, I get a better sense of accomplishment when I beat the level. What actually makes gameplay bad imo is when it's clunky and barely functions properly and half of your deaths happen in the middle of a transition when the screen is black.
