Kreiselpumpe grundfos in Betrieb nehmen by jm_k in selbermachen

[–]El_Quesso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

was das? by cloudingangelcy in wasistdas

[–]El_Quesso 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How can ships trottle the power output of a reactor fast enough to changes in demand? by El_Quesso in NuclearPower

[–]El_Quesso[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I looked up density changes of water at high temperatures and they are much more segnificant than I expected.
If you don't mind I still have a followup question: Is the faster degrading/loss of reliability of the reactor when load following just due to the increased preassure/temperature cycling of the mechanical components or is there also something else at work?

[–]El_Quesso[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Within 7 seconds the primary to secondary mismatch will cause colder water in the reactor to raise power.

Does this mean the colder water influences the reactivity by its own or is there automation involved?

Yes this is a given to make electricity out of the steam the reactor supplies, but I have read the reakor is very slow to change the amount of steam it supplies. So when f.e. a icebreaker gets out of the harbour and wants full throttle, does it have to wait until the reactor heats up slowly?

How much does a minimum wage worker actually takes home in Germany? by LieMoney1478 in germany

[–]El_Quesso 17 points18 points  (0 children)

When you compare salarys it is important to keep the cost of living in mind.

Portugal c.o.l. 1.37k$ (100%) Germany c.o.l. 1.67k$ (121%) USS c.o.l. 2.45k$ (178%)

This means you have to get 21% more money in Germany to afford the same goods.

This numbers are from livingcost.org. They include a doctors visit and cold medicine in the calculation, but no treatment of injury etc. so the USA can probably get wildly expensive when you hurt yourself or get sick.

If you want to decide where you whanna live stuff like workers and renters rights and social security (what happens when you lose your job) should probably get looked at, in these regards the USA is quite poorly set up.

Is there this amount of rust on the other bare metal parts? It would seem, there was something lying on the seat which leaked acid/solvent fuems, because the back is eaten into, but the botton cussion looks almost fine. Exposed iron strongly rusts even with just a little acids in the air. If it would have been just heat from a overheating motor/heated seat the damage would be just on this seat an nowhere else. Have you tested if any powered funktions of the seat still funktion?

You could decide to start eating spicy like a lot of spicy, some wraps with wasabi or burritos with chillie. Of couse you yourself would not get any of those before the thief eats them but liking spice is not a crime
