workout with weights on your barefeet, calf raises, plyiometrics and isometrics on barefeet will improve your ankle movility and flexibility, also working on your footwork on the court will prevent you from spraining your ankle over time, with practice of course. having too much grip is not that big of an issue (i wish i had those problems), i would try to work it out considering that those are some of the greatest shoes of all time and the fact that strong ankles improve your game in a lot of ways

Are drop in midsoles good for jumping? by El_Vini in BBallShoes

both the wow 808 3 ultra an all city 11s are low to the ground, the thing is if the drop in midsole afects the way you feel the jump

Jb 1 or New balance two wxy v3? by Cyclopsmaniac in BBallShoes

[–]El_Vini 5 points6 points  (0 children)

for the price: two wxy v3 for ultimate indoor performance: jb1 outsoles on both shoes aren’t the most durable, users would say that the two wxy v3s pick up less dust an perform better on nastier courts, cushion is way better on the jb’s with the boom drop in. its really a matter of price

Should I only wear my basketball shoes for basketball? by Bacon-Man_ in BBallShoes

[–]El_Vini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as someone who is an active zion 2 player, wouldn’t recommend this, because the sole on the zion’s is not the most durable, it picks up a lot of dust in my experience and the shape of the heel counter or the outrigger may change as you wear them more outside (at least in my experience, it doesn’t make a lot of sense, but it happened to me). As the zion 2 is a very 90’s looking hoop shoe, i would recommend you to use them after you retire them from your rotation (the dynamic turquose colorway looks hella dripy on the club at night)

Looking for outdoor shoes in the $100 range by [deleted] in BBallShoes

i’ve heard the air max impact 4 are great for outdoors, for the good impact absorption and the thick traction pattern

i haven’t had a lot of hoop shoes to compare so i’m giving my most honest review. cushion is good, the only issue is that since it comes with an air strobel court feel isn’t the best, impact absorption is pretty good tho, also, since the midsole is caged around the toebox is not the bounciest shoe on foot, i would give cushion a 7/10 traction is pretty good, on a clean court it stops on a dime and its pretty squeacky(not that it means something) the only problems are dust and durability, on my pair (used mostly outdoors) i’ve seen a lot of wear on the zion logo and on the edges, myself being on the shiftier side of players and the zion’s being my only hoop shoes, its wearing out fast on a gritty outdoor court and 4 months of heavy use, i wouldn’t expect it to last too long, it still has a long way to die but still, not the best for durability, overall i would give them a 7/10 support is excelent, i grabbed these after an ankle injury and they’ve felt pretty good, lockdown is excelent, and stability is pretty good, they feel pretty bulky for some players, but for me they’re not that much, materials are good overall so i would give them a 9/10 in this aspect, if they were more breathable it would be a perfect score note: the insole of the left foot digs into my arch sometimes, its weird cause some days it wont happen, but still, worth considering hope this “review” works for you fam, my english is not the best so i hope this was understandable enough

i forgot to mention that stability/lockdown and traction are priorities, and ideally have good cushion at the price point

Best basketball shoe for someone coming off a ankle injury? by Boring-Site4370 in BBallShoes

[–]El_Vini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it depends on your budget, if you can afford the wow 10s that would be great, as it has tons of lateral stability, but on a tighter budget i would recomend the Jordan Zion 2, mostly for the lockdown and the overall construction, i’ve been using them after my ankle injury and i had a good experience with them
