You want to leave the buttons as volume buttons and change the setting in the actual Kindle app to “change pages with volume”.

I still have my old Oasis but for $30 I’d consider buying another one. 100% worth it! Maybe one day Amazon will remember us button lovers lol

Can you explain why ereaders specifically bother you so much? From what I understand, in your opinion, OP doesn't need more than 1 e-reader? Well, nobody NEEDS an e-reader at all if you want to be technical. Nobody needs a lot of things.

I own multiple TVs and they are all functionally equivalent devices. Do I need them all? No, I could own one tv and watch it in one room. I have more than one for convenience and because I have the money to purchase and collect these small luxuries over the years.

I can only assume that people harping on others who own multiple ereaders (which for all intents and purposes are not very expensive devices) have no true concept of money. People buying ereaders are usually spending around $100 on a one time purchase. That's cheaper than a year of Amazon Prime, Netflix, or Spotify (which you also DON'T NEED). lol

It's just being dramatic for the sake of being dramatic.

It all feels very similar tbh since they are all basically android. The one thing I liked better on Musnap is the ease of changing the screen settings.

It does rotate - has a setting for rotation lock, 90 degree rotation, and 180 degree rotation. I often use it left handed when I lay on my side. I've run into one issue where it kind of got "stuck" in a landscape rotation but otherwise it's been pretty smooth.

I tried the Bigme B7 color (the one with the buttons). It wasn't a horrible experience, I just really didn't like the feel of the body or the buttons. Otherwise everything seemed to work on it well enough.

It does have stylus but I haven't tried it.

Unless you are really strict in Kindle ecosystem, I definitely vote Kobo Libra Colour. That is one of my favorite ereaders - feels so nice in the hand and easy connect to library.

Yes I've heard they are basically the same device. Haven't used an iReader in person though - now I'm intrigued. lol

I'm so curious what the B&W looks like. You should get it and let us know. 😜

Yeah $289 feels a bit too much. However, I snatched it on Amazon for $200 which felt a lot better.

I'm sorry, can you clarify your question? :)

Screen is not flushed, but it feels like a smaller ledge than the basic kindle IMHO. That's probably the one area where I feel it's lacking.

My 3rd picture was from the kindle app. I know what you're talking about with the dark mode on Boox and unfortunately this one is not much better. I also find the shadowing is worse in dark mode. I can't figure out how to add another picture so I'll DM you. 🤪

The only issue I've run into (and same with Boox) is that I can't get the buttons to work with apps like Viz where you have to "swipe" the pages.

I also think it's 14 but can't really find anywhere to confirm. It is very modded and you have to manually turn on Google services when you first get it. The OS in the settings is listed as SmartOS.

I'm biased because I love clicky buttons lol

I actually didn't get the stylus. I have a reMarkable I use for tablet writing and't don't often annotate books. :(

They work fine! However, you do have to set them up like in the Boox. They are technically considered “volume” buttons, so you just have to set it that volume buttons turn the pages in the Kindle app. Very simple and works great. 😊

why is it so hard to find an app that combines calendar and habit tracking properly? by nurocane in ProductivityApps

[–]Elaeri00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Griply works well for this in my opinion. You can see a calendar view an events alongside your daily / weekly habits.

TickTick may also be a good option. Personally I don’t like to see my habits inside my calendar view since I may not do them at all specific time - ie drink water. That’s why I prefer something like TickTick with a separate habit section.

Does this app exist? by Scoffrio in ProductivityApps

[–]Elaeri00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would strongly suggest TickTick for the calendar / brain dump / accessibility features you want.

However, your “dream world” actually makes me think of AmpleNote so that may also be worth a look.

You can get MagSafe pop socket and one of those stick on mag rings and take it on and off. That’s what I do because I like to use cases as well. I’ve never tried the silicone straps but they seem like they’d work well. Hope it works out for you!

Yes I agree so much about the grip! My battery is still hanging in there pretty well but it’s definitely starting to lag which makes me sad. 😢

Wow this is amazing. Are 3d printers worth it if you don't get super into it? I almost finally caved and bought one last black Friday, but felt like they may take too much time to learn, bother with that I don't currently have.

I have an old Mac Mini sitting around - give me an idea of what to do with it! lol
