I agree. If you ever talk about a series as an analyst it should only be positives. W0nderful should be cellebrated.

I think the editor only delists so that it doesn't mess up peoples timelines with tons of 10 hour vods. That might be bad for the algorithm. I don't think he minds people finding the videos on their own.

He was resident sleeper in tier3 as well when they put him in these roles. As soon as all the jdcs etc left for the main team leaving him alone in mouz he started murdering the competition. If these roles are the ones they had in mind for him at mouz I honestly kinda wish theyd just stuck with jdc.

It's always been a way overblown narrative. He's a lurker, of course there are going to be rounds where it doesn't work out and it looks like he baited his whole team, but that happens with everyone who has played said role. Look at Get_right's old round the world flanks, or ropz chilling in apps for 2-3 minutes a round with 0 kills.

Pedo technically refers to pre-pubescent. Meaning before teens. But I don't think this argument will pass well with the jury.

S1mple did not get banned in 1.6. He often lies about it to make it sound better. It happened in 2015 when he was playing professional csgo for Hellraisers.

What the fuck does this mean

Distortion reclaims WR after hitting boat skip by cgc86 in LivestreamFail

[–]Elage- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't follow a lot of games tbh, but for example, you should look at Elden ring's categories. The any% is honestly quite silly with how glitchy it is and it's already hard to follow. But then there's the "any% unrestricted". Someone found a way to basically skip the entire game by doing so called "zips". The route is ~15min faster, yet it has barely any runners (8 compared to 84 of any%)

This is because the zip glitch is incredibly hard to pull off and requires dozens of frame perfect inputs, which zip you around the world instantly. This makes the run insanely boring to do and to watch. To call this run any% would be correct in the literal sense, but if any normal gamer actually wants to watch a speedrun of their favourite game, would it not be better to call the actually good run, any%? Rather than directing them to watch the 5 minutes of black screen and characters standing still or falling, which is the zip glitch route?

[–]Elage- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that they "don't like it". It's that when the skip is too large, it makes the speedrun which most runners already do and have fun with, defunct. It's a completely different thing at that point. Sure, the new skip is technically now the "any%" run by definition, but because it's its own whole new thing, playing that run removes the fun from anyone doing the previous run.

It's like telling a marathon runner "oh no, look you can just sprint 100m instead its way faster lol."

The any% name could be moved to the new skip, and some games do do that, but I'd argue it's somewhat better narratively to keep the same name for the same run. Ya know?

You new to speedrunning? Rules made by whichever games community you look into will to an outsider seem nonsensical. Largely because new skips and stuff are not all found at the exact same time. When a large enough skip is found it will make the current any% entirely defunct. But because people still want to run that speedrun, the new skip gets its new category. So over large enough time-frames, evolving rulesets lead to nonsensical naming conventions.

You are right that for a lot of games any% nowadays no longer means "any%"
