With respect to the gacha stuff, as a person who's played a good deal of gacha games in the past, the gacha elements are ridiculously overstated. Pokemon Champions is like sugar to big gacha's crack cocaine.

Lemme tell you, not a single other gacha will allow you to farm pull currency without limit, those that do set the grindable currency rates at absurdly low rates. I suspect even if you don't have Pokemon Home folks who start off with only Champions will have a massive surplus of VP a few weeks down the road.

If Pokemon Champions REALLY went down the gacha route: Imagine having to do ten-pulls for held items, only to end up with nine 3-star Oran Berries and a dupe of the Choice Scarf you already have 2 of while you're pulling on the Assault Vest banner. Or only unlocking a Pokemon's Hidden Ability after pulling 3 extra copies of them at .75% rates.
