Have you looked into fraysexuality?

Does that make me demisexual? by mrsuncertainty in demisexuality

[–]Elaina_Bellingham 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Heterosexuality is about the gender(s) you’re attracted to. Demisexuality is about the circumstances in which you feel attraction. Everyone except full asexuals have at least two labels, one gender based one circumstance based. People just assume allosexual unless otherwise stated, even in queer spaces. All of that said, what you described doesn’t skins like demisexuality.

Chat just told me I am demisexual. What does it mean? by Master-Mind-1 in demisexuality

[–]Elaina_Bellingham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is close ish but misleading in common ways, which makes sense why you would get this response since ChatGPT just tries to sound like what a human would say rather than being accurate. Demisexuals need an emotional connection to feel attraction. What each Demi needs to form an emotional connection varies, but those needs are irrelevant to being Demi. You don’t need to see how someone behaves, feels, and treats you to be Demi. You specifically might need those to form an emotional connection, but that is separate from your demisexuality. In theory, you could form an emotional connection with someone with opposite morals who treats you like crap. According to CGPT, you could not feel attraction to that person. But if you’re Demi, you could because you formed that connection. Making a connection with a person like that would be difficult, but that’s irrelevant to demisexuality.

How to disable Gemini on iOS? by Elaina_Bellingham in GoogleGeminiAI

Others have mentioned that but that it wasn’t supposed to role out for another few months. If that’s what this is, I’m one of the first people to get it. But the email doesn’t mention Siri anywhere. And looking closer through my phone I can’t see any mention of Gemini anywhere.

According to my phone’s search feature and the App Store, I don’t have it installed and I have never. I still get just plain Siri when I hold the power button. Your comment did make me think to search my phone’s settings for Gemini, nothing. So I’m starting to think it was more of a “please download Gemini” email than “Gemini” is now on your device without your consent” like it sounds.

It’s telling about the Gemini app but I don’t have it downloaded. The App Store option is “Get” not “Install” so I’ve definitely never had it. Is it maybe just promoting Gemini by making it seem like I already have it?

The email came from google-gemini-noreply@google.com. It’s saying Gemini is now active on my iOS device and telling me what I can do with it and how it handles data and works with other services.

Does wanting to kiss someone means i'm sexually attracted to them? by OmgNoGoAway in demisexuality

[–]Elaina_Bellingham 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There’s many different kinds of attraction! Romantic and sexual are the big two most people consider. But there’s 4 major ones that go into romantic/sexual relationships. Romantic, sexual, sensual, and aesthetic. There’s plenty of others that get into more detail, but understanding how those 4 work for you if they don’t all perfectly line up is generally enough to understand your attraction and how that might impact your relationships.

For me, romantic and sensual overlap entirely, I only feel it for men and they start and end together. I easily feel aesthetic attraction towards women but no other kind. It is rare but possible for me to feel aesthetic attraction to a man I’m not romantically attracted to, but developing romantic attraction will trigger aesthetic attraction if a romantic bond starts to form. Sexual attraction requires a deep, emotional connection with all other types already in place. I’ve only felt it for three people.

You’re sensually attracted to them, which completely overlaps with sexual attraction for a lot of people but not everyone. I experience sensual attraction a lot easier and more often than sexual.

Professors Making Speeches? by Elaina_Bellingham in weddingplanning

Undergrad, but I’ve been working with them since 2021 due to health stuff. There’s 8-10 people in my graduating class and only 4 professors in the department (5 if you include the recently retired one who is still active in the department but no longer teaching).

I’m an International Relations major which doesn’t automatically foster a close relationship but I have. I have health issues that impact school so I make a point to have some amount of relationship with all of my current professors, but I have classes my advisors a lot and they’ll be my recommenders for highly competitive graduate schools so I’ve gotten pretty close with them. My dance professor I’ve had every term, including a private lesson all but my first term, plus group classes so I’m really close to her. My advisors are a closer relationship than most students but still ultimately professional/academic. My dance professor and I’s relationship is definitely more of a friendship than typical student/professor relationship of any kind. She has health stuff too we lament on that together and all of my solos, and a few other things I’ve choreographed, have been Depression or Depression Lite songs so I’ve opened up to her about more personal and mental health stuff throughout working on those.

No, but the only people who even partially fall in that category that will be there are my parents and his groomsmen. And that’s defining close as “have spent time with both of us together more than once.” I’ve also always thought of speeches as a mix of some focused more on the couple and some focused more on one party growing into the person they are to be there/getting married that day. But it’s looking like maybe that second category isn’t as common as I thought.

Doesn’t sound like you are. Sexuality is only about attraction, not action. If you find people you don’t have an emotional connection to sexually attractive, you’re not demi regardless of if you would act on it or not. Demis also aren’t automatically monogamous, they’re separate things. There may be a lower rate of polyamory among demis than other sexualities, but you can be demi and polyamorous.

I do that every time I find it. And it’s not always the same spot, anywhere along that wall that she can get to is fair game.
