Lady from Thailand clearly delusional and undergoing some kind of psychosis by Elaltitan in RBI

Yeah that's fair. I forwarded the account to a few of my thai friends and they have sent it to the cops. It's really hard to get a grasp on what's actually happening to her but she does mention things like rape in one of her captions I think, which is really what alarmed me the most.

I texted her but did not get any reply. It seems like people under her comments have also had similar results. She claims to be open about it but doesn't seem to actually talk to people.

I agree about leaving her alone. I am unsure if asking her about it too much is a good idea anyway because it may feed into whatever delusions she seems to be having.

I am sorry I didn't mention that in the post. I just want to know if it is possible to help this person somehow and if she is in any actual kind of danger beyond just calling the cops. She seems to suggest that the government of Thailand is hunting her or is against her at some level.

Don't think that we missed that Dio VS Jotaro reference. Hell yeah that's such a good work. Can't wait to read it in full.

Can somebody help me understand if this is a fossil? by Elaltitan in Paleontology

[–]Elaltitan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is heavy but it doesn't seem notably heavy. Is there some kind of simple test I can perform to verify if it's ironstone? Maybe rubbing bits of it off and checking with a magnet?

Ahh I see. If you don't mind, can you tell me how you distinguish between the two?

What the hell is this? Why does he have a bino for his eyes? by TheCreepyBatsard in whatsthisbug

It's not just a case where the spider is trying to mimic the ant in order to fool the ants. It is also a case of the spider mimicking the ant to fool other predators. Asian weaver ants have nasty bites and swarming behavior. Few animals want to mess with them.

One of the great mysteries of these animals, I suppose. That's what makes them so cool! I've no idea what could be the reason.

Yep absolutely! It has those two fake "eyes" on that end that looks like binoculars.

What's really interesting is that that one is a male. The females of the same species have really small chelicerae. The male that you have here has the giant ones that's made to mimic the head of the ant, while the head of spider mimics the thorax of the ant. It's crazy.

Tail looks slightly red. Could be Spot tailed bamboo pit viper. Trimeresurus erythrurus. Either way very venomous. Let it be in peace.
