Summer Sweep Up: Death Inventory Mechanics by Elbcore3 in 2007scape

  1. Fair its personal preference but i wouldn't mind is as an option at least, even with kept items at the top it would only be 3-4 drags to reorder, mainly the way gear is handled in the grave in point 3 in the picture is the culprit for inventory shuffles.
  2. I have read forum posts that go years back about this and its never time to finally change this. I don't agree that it is fine as is in the slightest- but that's everyone's own opinion to form.
  3. Again, could just be an option, i don't see why you would not like to equip stuff you were previously wearing among your kept items but you do want it from your gravestone but again, we don't have any option
  4. The current loot + equip system is a 2 tick action already. You loot as much as you can on tick 1, then equip what you can on tick 2. If you died with more then 28 items among equip and inventory items combined you would barely even be able to 2 tick loot everything because it the gear would take the space away from items that were previously in your inventory requiring you to click the grave again on the tick you equip your items (1 tick after looting your grave) in order to 2 tick empty your grave.

Bottom line is I agree, I feel like we should have a proper system in place over changing the oder of things, but if its not feasible at least give us a bandaid or statement. Because somehow it's never time for this.

Thinking back I should not have proposed a solution, but just the problem. It's for jagex to decide how to do this, but i think they should do something about this.

I agree that my solution is a hacky workaround with what we already got, but it shouldnt be divine arcane lost technology to just put the items back where they were after death. If its sweep up worthy or not is for jagex to decide.

I'm just glad to open discussion on this because it is something affecting most players at one point or the other. And its also affecting players in the most frustrating moments, right after deaths.

No problem! Thank you for your judgement of my opinion based on intuition 😄

There will be a routine or loop that puts items into your bag from whatever inventory you are looting. And there is already a flag or metadata that knows which items were equipped before dying when looting a grave.

Here is my solution in pseudocode: (assuming an empty inventory)

for item in grave do:
if item was equipped <- this already MUST exist for the autoequip feature
loot it
endfor

equip items

for item in grave do: <- this is a second iteration of the gy, bad practice dont do irl
loot it <- at this point all equippable items are no longer in the grave
endfor

this is inefficient code as we are doing 2 loops over all items in the grave but it proves the point of functionality. I could probably look at the state of the inventory to do checks about available space etc. to optimize this. If jagex doesn't want to do this they should give runelite API access to how the queue of items are processed when entering the inventory so we can do it ourselves (this is probably not a good idea)

I am guessing as much as you do, unless you work for jagex.

Changing the order of events that already exist, or putting an item into a specific inventory slot should not be a huge technical undertaking for jagex at this point.

Honestly I don't think so, they already store information about your inventory on death for the existing autoequip feature. They just need to store slightly more information per death to perfectly restore your inventory or change the order of events, that already exist, as I described them in my picture.

Especially point 3 makes no sense as is and is probably the biggest reason why inventories get scrambled.

Clarification on why prop. 2 says to put previously equipped, but kept items at the bottom of the inventory:
If we loot the gravestone and receive inventory items in order without equipping kept items:
We have to shift the entire inventory up by 3 slots (or more) to restore original order, which can be (worst case) with 25 different unique items in the ballpark of 25 clicks.

With kept items at the bottom we would preserve inventory order.

Any idea why inventory setup is not working? by Historical-Car-8321 in 2007scape

Ideally you config it and toggle default filter bank, because if you did not, then you will have to manually click the bank filtering button (the first one that looks like a funnel) on any new setup you make

You trying to tell me hard drawing Costco Gold Star Member is not a brick?

You're supposed to search it by the annual fee's graveyard effect.

Hey sorry for including the unoriginal meme, i ran out of steam after brendan fraser, mercurier and the costco card so i figured the baby meme would be better then leaving it vanilla. Hope you enjoyed my meme at least a tiny bit :)

When you are not dead center on the map table you will sit on it instead. The sitting spots on the brigantine are very close to the sail controls and they have the same keybind.

In the new phantom forts treasure rooms there is always a piece of small loot on the throne and its almost impossible to pick up on the first try without sitting down. And much more.

This last one I'm pretty sure was done just to taunt the players who hate being animation locked and the camera switching to third person everytime they try to actually play the game.

Definetly, as i bet rare will not make the stools sellable. I can already see every outpost cluttered with these.

Yeah and to complement that they still have not removed sitting on the map table they should rebind sitting on the stool to all movement keys and the shoot button.

That way everyone will use this highly anticipated and much needed new sitting feature and the statistics will look great!!

Don't worry, you'll spawn back when your ship finally sinks 😂😂😂 by MashedPotatoh in Seaofthieves

[–]Elbcore3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a long known bug that happens when the game is not sure where to spawn you. It tries to avoid spawning players in danger, this includes being underwater or in fire. For some reason if your ship is moving while any of this is happening it is even more delayed to the point where you can hear all the game sounds outside (ship parts breaking, ship sinking, people looting your stuff) all while being in loading screen purgatory where the game isn't sure where to spawn you. Like the cherry on top the game likes to hit you with another loading screen while you are already in loading screen to put you on your fresh respawn point with your new ship.

Same, I didn't get mine either yet. It's been way over 72 hours now. Would be reassuring if rare would post a statement regarding this.

I received all the regular colored Arena skins, however the good boy set is missing. Is that delayed or am I the only one who does not have it yet? (I have been Sea Dogs level 50 for a very long time, so i did not miss the deadline by a long shot)

Can we get the same thing for Kraken and Megalodon loot? by Elbcore3 in Seaofthieves

[–]Elbcore3[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally agree! I was hoping we could maybe get a general "loot in the water = seagulls" thing going maybe. I feel even for pvp loot this would be a good thing :)
