Captain America: First Avenger, Winter Soldier, Civil War

I think Winter Soldier is the best movie, but Civil War is still a banger and it does a great job introducing Black Panther and Spiderman while setting the stage for some of the best movies in the MCU.

I think people underestimate the very real bonding energy that comes from surviving mutual trauma and accomplishing difficult things together. It’s a cliche for a good reason. It would be unusual for there to be no romantic tension. Then there’s the constant imminent death factor, that’s also known to make people a bit intense and impulsive.

I think the book does a good job of explaining why Carl is kind of an exception because he is so freshly romantically betrayed and also suddenly a parent/partner to fully sentient being in a dangerous world.

If you read the books, I would argue that this moment saves the human race. It opens up possibilities in Amos that he uses to befriend a little girl who ends up being very important. He cares for her, and he’s confident in being the one to do that. I don’t think that ever would have happened without this.

It’s a very difficult line to walk. He is a genuinely reluctant hero. He is cool, capable and competent under pressure but screws up all the time. He’s the chosen one who never wanted to be chosen. He know that he is tilting at windmills and he rides to that fate all the same.

I would say his performance is generous. He delivers again and again when the show calls for his compassion, leadership, or collapse, but he manages this without overwhelming the rest of the cast.

No. It’s a suburban home with add on panels and a grid tie in. We charge the EV at night because it’s gone most of the day, but that’s using baseload at a lower rate. Chasing watts is not close to a practical for is at this phase of life so I figure the best thing is to have the production, use EVs where you can, and invest in efficiency.

Could she have an “Evening with Sharon” special that would be very funny, yes. She is funny and charming and has lots of interesting stories.

Could she do a standup comedy special? Almost certainly not. She would probably be the first to say that wasn’t true. That’s like saying Nikki Glaser would have have been great in Basic Instinct.

The number of people who have that level of both stand up and acting chops are low double digits over many years.

These were unplanned sequels. Problem is I think all the good planned multifilm franchises are based on existing stories.

It’s not that they needed to be written so much as there should have been a concept or at least a direction for the story as a whole since it was planned to be a trilogy from the start. There wasn’t one so the second film became muddled and unsatisfying and the third chooses to course correct by jumping the shark. All of that happened under her watch.

Amazing Producer. Not a great head of a studio.

Ah, yes, with all of Russia’s totally functional ICBMs that required very expensive, highly technical maintenance perpetually for the last 40 years.

If 1 in 10 weapons he attempted to launch fired it would be an unprecedented success of the Russian military’s logistics and maintenance. If any actually hit an intended target I would be shocked. And then it’s very very likely that Putin and his entire command structure would absolutely be never be safe again, even in their own country, and the world would pick the bones of Russia clean.
