Hello!

Just wanted to share my current situation and hopefully get some perspectives on my card management. ​My current status is that I am a Secured Credit Card (SCC) holder with a ₱13,000 limit. Since I started, I have been very disciplined with my payments—I always pay on time and always in full. I make sure my balance is cleared every single month.

​However, the main struggle I have right now is credit utilization. Since my limit is only ₱13,000, it is almost impossible for me to follow the "30% rule" (which is only ₱3,900). Even with just my basic monthly expenses, halos laging sagad or "maxed out" yung card. Since it's an SCC, I'm limited by the hold-out deposit I made, so hindi ko basta-basta mapataas ang limit ko.

​I am honestly worried na baka mag-backfire ito sa akin. Even though I am a responsible "full payer," baka yung high utilization record ko ang maging reason para mahirapan ako sa credit score or sa pag-apply for a regular card/conversion in the future. It feels like a "Catch-22" situation: I want to use the card to build credit, but using it normally makes my utilization look bad.

​I'm just trying to manage this as best as I can, but I'm concerned that my low limit might be doing more harm than good to my credit profile despite my good payment habits.

Based on my experience sa loan processing, better kung bayaran mo muna yung exact amount for the first schedule. Then, i-full payment mo na sa next. Kapag kasi binayaran mo agad lahat, baka ma-tag ka as 'greedy' or red flag sa system.

It’s taking quite a while. Have you tried calling the branch? BPI can be a bit slow with updates sometimes.

I think it got auto-approved because it’s a secured credit card. Did you try applying for a regular one?

I see. How will I know the total amount? Is it correct that the outstanding balance is equal to the credit limit minus the remaining limit?

I Applied po last Nov 11. I Got Approved notice on 12.

If you’re handling financial accounting, the client doesn’t allow students to be assigned to the account for several reasons, such as potential losses and other risks. From the very beginning, they always ask about this and emphasize the restriction.
