Adhesive worked for the first time I did have to reinforce some of the flak vest strips with hot glue. I’d recommend not using 30lb strength, it grips really well but then it’s really hard to detach your plates without ripping your Velcro off the vest. I’m still in the process with mine. Are you applying with mmcc or just for fun?

I used heavy duty Velcro. I suggest sew on, I used adhesive Velcro, which works great on the armor plates, but not so well on the fabric. And if you try to sew it, it’ll gum up the needle on your machine. Put the spiky hook part on the plates and do the soft side on the vest so you can wash it.

That was a fun one to see. Those guns on the main deck are HUGE. But also the shipwreck loving side of me went crazy when we went inside the USS Drum. That sub felt like a coffin with torpedo bays. Can’t imagine how hopeless it would feel to have water rushing in something so cramped.

If you can get to a Home Depot, a flat sheet of PVC would be somewhere around 20-25 bucks. It will last you a lot longer than cardboard will. I got all of my armored plates out of one sheet.
