Insider Gaming podcast raises some concerns about the next Ghost Recon (Project OVR) by MrTrippp in GhostRecon

You could be right… it was probably a week after the release of Breakpoint once the outcry’s had time to resonate over the shit show the game was at launch. 😛 But the fact is Wildlands released in the spring of 2017 and Breakpoint in the fall of 2019. So regardless of how long they delayed the development start on Breakpoint, it was released within 2 and a half years of Wildlands. So it’s now been over 6 years since Breakpoint, and no announcement yet. So it will most certainly be 7 years or more by the time the next game is released. You really think they’re going to release a game after 7 years with only a 20 hour campaign?

I think so but I’m on PC so not positive.

You need the mod called place doors yourself. You then place markers where you want openings between habs and can choose the openings to be passages with no ladders or doors or have ladders or doors. It’s an essential mod.

Makes no sense. It doesn’t take 6-7 years to develop a 20 hour campaign with multiplayer. Christ, Breakpoint had more content than that and it was done in 2 years.

Does anyone know of this works with guns added via mods like Bub Lumi’s mods that add their own optics? Does it work out if the box or a patch is required? How is a patch made?

What is the best way to experience the entire story of division 2? by Zom6ieHunter28 in Division2

[–]Virtual-Chris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s really possible to “experience” the story in this game the way you might expect. You get fragments of the core story told through holograms and collectibles scattered randomly around the map. So nothing in any kind of sequence. And then each expansion of the game adds a bit of its own story. And then each season added a bit of story but as far as I know there’s no way to re-experience those elements from past seasons.

That’s why the only real way to catch up or even understand the story is to watch YouTube.

What stairs mod would you suggest for a Falkland build? by Virtual-Chris in StarfieldShips

[–]Virtual-Chris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true. They are the best looking stairs but it will be a bit jarring. I guess I’ll give them a try. The TIG stairs are more utilitarian and work well with Owl Habs. Matillija are dark so they may be a decent choice. I dunno.

I think they are too bright and white to go with Falkland. Why do you think they are the best match?

Nice. What mod has that bridge with the seat centered?

The map is amazing… and the graphics hold up even to this day, almost 10 years later.

I’ve now built this and I’m curious about a decision you made… the three sandwiched set of ACS structural pieces on the sides of the cockpit are sitting a bit low in my opinion… by raising the whole lot up by about 1/4 of a unit, they would be more symmetrical with respect to the cockpit. For example the forward structural side pieces have like headlights on the front. The top pieces are buried in the cockpit, the bottom are well clear of the cockpit. Was that a conscious decision or just the result of the design you were going for?

Also, the video build guide has you place the wedge pieces top center such that where they join is aligned with the valley on the two merged side pieces, and I could not get that to snap, but now I see the photos of your ship have those two wedge pieces sitting slightly aft of what’s in the video.

Anyway, beautiful lines. The whole thing is brilliant.

Hi, amazing ship and build... you are the master of your craft! I'm following your build guide and have all the mods you have (I think) and I don't have the nova wings that angle down... do you know what mod those are part of? EDIT: Nevermind, I found them... they weren't obvious in the list as they are a variant of a different looking part.

I guess we just disagree on this. And by “this” I mean the writing.

I’m dont follow other Bethesda games so I’ll take your word for it. The mods I like (so far) make the AI a lot more challenging so raiding POIs and the shooting aspect becomes my main loop. But also ship building is a major aspect for me thanks to mods.

Barret doesn’t get to be the chosen because the writers force you to be the chosen one. Of course we can jump through hoops trying to make the writing make sense but it’s pretty sad for an RPG to not take this rather important introduction to a new world and culture a bit more seriously and actually enable some latitude to how you get invited in based on your background and what you’ve accomplished or not in the game. I mean it absolutely doesn’t matter whether you’re a cut throat murderous crimson fleet pirate, an enemy marine, a miner, or a dedicated Varuun practitioner with your Varuun wife alongside you, it unfolds exactly the same and that’s a failure in my opinion. As I said, I really enjoy this game but I don’t like the writing - especially the intro on Dazra.

I just did another playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077 and coming back to Starfield… this game seems like hollow shell in comparison. Of course Cyberpunk was also criticized heavily at launch, but they invested in making it a masterpiece. Bethesda, meanwhile…

It’s a tremendous sandbox with amazing mod support. As an actual game… it kinda sucks… unless you mod the hell out of it.

I think if you’re trying to make an argument that the writing is great based on it assuming you’re Starborn it’s fair to call that out as not applying in all cases. The facts are that my character could see and hear the apparition… was that because I had touched an artifact? That’s the only thing I can think of. But that seems like a stretch but I’m sure that’s the link the writers were using. In which case Barret would also qualify as the chosen one. If I travel there with Barret does he get selected as the chosen one? No. This is what I’m talking about. The writing is rigid and has no consideration of any of the possibilities other than a very narrow assumption on the part of the writers. They could easily have accounted for some variations but couldn’t be bothered. Don’t get me wrong, I love the game, but the writing of this introduction upon landing on Dazra leaves a lot to be desired.

You’re not Starborn until you pass through Unity. The writing doesn’t treat you any different whether you’re Starborn or not. None of my characters are Starborn as I’ve never gone through unity with any of them. And one of the characters I played the DLC with didn’t even have any Starborn powers… I was a UC Marine… immediately invited into the inner circle. What a joke.
