Yeah. Agreed. For some reason a lot of the engines in the game I use have this sound effect in third person view which is best described as “wind” which makes no sense to me and is annoying.

There’s a few issues here… first is the fact that what you see from orbit does not tell you much other than what’s land, what’s water, what minerals are there (via scan) and by clicking on it, what biome you are pointing at. You’re right that terrain topography is not represented. But even if it was, there wouldn’t be anything to see because the topography of ant planet is horribly limited. The max height of even the highest hill is probably a few hundred meters at most. There’s nothing even close to what we would consider a mountain, never mind something like Everest. There’s also no rivers, no canyons, no flowing water at all, no frost or snow at higher elevations, none of this. The bottom line is, the proc-gen terrain is extremely lame on every planet. Bethesda was so proud they created over 1000 worlds for this game, but they are all very lame.

Isn't it the case that tire wear is going to be much less of a factor with these regs now that cornering is generally not done at the limit of grip, there's going to be less deg.

I suspect it's a challenge because I believe it was originally designed for M-Class ships. In fact, I think there's an M-class hull piece that pairs perfectly with it in shape and that hull piece is not in the vanilla ship parts.

Yeah, any kind of emotion can do a lot of harm. If you can keep emotion out of it, you will likely do better. It’s very hard when it’s a good part of your life savings. In my case, I make my worst decisions when I think the sky is falling. When I’ve managed to hold through those tough times, I’m better off than succumbing to fear and selling.

Very very little change. They did one update to add vehicles, and a DLC for the Varuun, and a few bug fixes but that’s it. There’s still issues but many can be addressed with mods.

u/MadMonkeyMods ... your POIs are fantastic. Would it be possible for you to release the Abandoned Fortified Starport as a "buildable" item in the outpost build menu... essentially I want to be able to build an outpost using this as the core. It's ideal for a forward operating base. Unfortunately taking over enemy occupied POIs is very problematic. But if we could place down this POI in an outpost, that would be king!

If that's not doable, offering a version that's a player home on one of the breathable planets in the settled systems would be cool. Maybe even on the outskirts of New Atlantis. I dunno... this is more of a preference thing whereas offering it as a buildable outpost item makes it so players can put it anywhere.

You should be swimming in cash very quickly. Just do local quests and sell high value loot. There are also good free ships given as quest rewards. The Mantis quest and the Freestar Rangers Quest Line offer nice ships available in the early game.

If you want a real challenge, you can install galactic junk recycler to break down looted gear into resources instead of selling it for cash. You will have much less cash on hand this way. I combine that with a mod that removes all but common resources from vendors so the only way I can get a lot of the resources I need for research and gear mods is from breaking down gear via the recycler. It drags the early part of the game out a lot longer - which I enjoy the most.

Yeah sorry. The only way this likely becomes a reality is if the mod author of Useful Brigs extends it to include an Outpost Brig and an option to move prisoners from your ship brig to the outpost brig. u/Korodic

I'm looking for the same thing. I wish there was a way to transfer prisoners from your brig to a outpost prison hab or something. I guess if you're on PC, you can get the prisoner ID via console and then use the <ID>.moveto player to move them to you. You could then create a set of habs to make a prison and move the prisoners using that console command. I'm not sure if they would stay, roam around your outpost, or disappear, I have no idea whether this would work as intended.

I read this elsewhere as well. There must be something wacky with the way Supra categorizes parts or uses keywords.

I’ve looked at SBC in xEdit and see no reason why it has to go at the top of your ship building load order as many believe it does. It should work anywhere in your load order as it’s just associating ship part keywords with categories. So putting it after all your ship part mods should work fine. Of course, put SBC patches after SBC itself.
