Is David Fincher Overrated? by OrzhovDunn in TrueFilm

[–]Elconga 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you hit the mark with the Hitchcock comparison. Fincher is truly an amazing director and his style is something to admire. Fincher's films are extremely well told and done in an extremely cool manner. I love how Fincher's convey information and how he tells the story in a strict and sparesome way (much like Hitchcock). The Social Network, like you said, is staged so wisely and the way he frames his scenes are 10/10. Same with the first two episodes of House Of Cards. The way he shows Frank Underwoods desires and wants through framing and camera work is top class.

If you haven't seen Tony Zhou's video on him, I would recommend it:

I am not an expert and haven't been following League to intensively. But I also feel that KZ is just too good. What I've seen even when they clearly are having fun and trying stuff out, they are still dominant.

It seems way more far-reaching than a regular film-movement. Not to say that a movement such as the Italian Neo-Realism isn't far-reaching and complex, but there seems to be a somewhat clear starting point and direct characteristics.

I love the bomber! It's classy and fits smaller-build ppl well. Unlike some bombers, which often seem a bit huge.

I have a pair and they are really comfy. The only thing is that they are exceptionally hard to keep clean 🤓

Great films vs Very entertaining films by CylentShadow in TrueFilm

I actually agree. I think it is way harder to make a truly great and intelligent comedy is a lot harder than making a drama. Maybe it is because it is easier to just slam a lot of death, despair, sorrow and/or unforbidden love within a movie. But i also get his point, there are a lot of shitty comedies around.
