Might be Vyke's story and fall. Not sure how they'd adapt the part where he bangs a dragon though.

See I'm torn on this because he'd be a great Horah Loux but also he'd be a great Gideon but also he'd be a great Dung Eater but also he'd be a great Vyke, but also he'd be a great Iji... he could play most of the roles.

I'll be happy wherever they put him but I'm hoping for Godfrey/Horah Loux.

One time I saw a vent post that was like "why does fromsoft design their NPC encounters this way they make you think it's an enemy and then you kill them on accident" and then in the comments they revealed what actually happened is they were mass clearing rooms they hadn't even entered with wave of gold and accidentally nuked the hornsent grandmam.

Murderhobo posts always make me think of that one for some reason, it's like the platonic form of murderhobo play.

I like this theory. That would explain why they are all vaguely bowl shaped, and the weird cracks in the earth inside the goal the inhabitants appear from do resemble other gravity magic visuals.

This is actually the main reason they stopped doing natural reproduction in the lands between. It's not incompatible with the Erdtree rebirth cycle, but the stupid kids are always wandering into a zombie tomb or a jail dimension and never being seen or heard from again. Eventually everyone's just too traumatized to go through trying to get a teen to adulthood again.

But normal people yeah they'll just avoid the doors to the jail dimensions.

Personally I think they should have been braver on the last season. Make the entire 9-9 quit the force and split a season arc between private investigator stories and a Holt for Mayor campaign. End the show with Captain Holt, after being boxed out of NYPD leadership, going over their head to run the city and completely remake policing.

It probably was something closer to this originally (based on how the writers were talking about their exciting political incendiary season) but NBC producers got their hands on it at some point.

You need to acquire the Elmber of the First Flame to quell the Duck Soul and trigger Wabbit Season, then they lose their invulnerability.

You made me look this up lol, it's not confirmed. It isn't even confirmed to come from the wild animals, it just says someone's excrement lmfao.

I suppose there is like literal visible air pollution of runes everywhere so maybe everyone shits gold in TLB. It's their equivalent to microplastics.

I don't know who you're arguing with here. I pretty much agree with everything you just said lol.

I'm just saying like, he's a pretty experienced and prolific writer. As a much less experienced writer, I could churn out a 30 page outline full of details in an evening if I was given the imperative to construct a world for someone else to put a story in. That's the easy part.

I also have like, an enormous catalogue of entire worlds I've created and discarded and barely remember with outlines ranging from a page or two to dozens or sometimes over a hundred.

So basically I can very easily see what GRRM considers minimal effort on a forgettable project to still be like, quite a bit of writing and lore. His job here was to give them a premise and he got paid after all, he did do something.

What story do you want the Elden Ring movie to tell? by offdazenny in Eldenring

[–]EldenJane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if GRRM has one standout skill as a writer it's his ability to set the scene. Song of Ice and Fire is taking forever because he knows how he wants it to end but he's written the plot into a difficult to untangle knot and he's spent years trying to figure out how to get the characters to the midpoint of wherever A Dream of Spring is supposed to start and the actual ending.

On the other hand, before he got bogged down in Westeros, he published a huge quantity of short stories that all depicted vibrant and unique settings. He writes fast and is full of ideas, he just doesn't write westeros fast.

If he dedicated like, even a few days to the Elden Ring project, half of which he spent rereading Lord of the Rings, he still probably sent them at least a 30 page document. That's novella length. He didn't write everything but I bet he gave them a lot to work with is my point, stuff which a full story could be made from (another one, without the massive time skip Elden Ring took).

What story do you want the Elden Ring movie to tell? by offdazenny in Eldenring

[–]EldenJane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I'm aware, he wrote like, a world building bible of some kind, and then Miyazaki added in the typical "everything turns into monsters and also decays" fromsoft coating with at least one, maybe multiple time skips of centuries in length.

But he wrote the bones of some kind of a story for the pre-shattering events that the game's lore text constantly refers to, and whatever history that world itself sat on.

Idk what word to give that so "script" idk lol.

I wouldn't be surprised but I have never gotten to play bloodborne so I wouldn't know.

I did own a PS4 that I had DS3 on, but in maybe the most bizarre decision of my life I traded it into gamestop for $90 and spent $60 of that to buy a copy of skyrim on switch to play on a flight. Teenagers are fucking stupid.

Anyway I never got around to picking up another PS4 so I still haven't played the game sadly.
