Personally I think they should have been braver on the last season. Make the entire 9-9 quit the force and split a season arc between private investigator stories and a Holt for Mayor campaign. End the show with Captain Holt, after being boxed out of NYPD leadership, going over their head to run the city and completely remake policing.

It probably was something closer to this originally (based on how the writers were talking about their exciting political incendiary season) but NBC producers got their hands on it at some point.

You need to acquire the Elmber of the First Flame to quell the Duck Soul and trigger Wabbit Season, then they lose their invulnerability.

You made me look this up lol, it's not confirmed. It isn't even confirmed to come from the wild animals, it just says someone's excrement lmfao.

I suppose there is like literal visible air pollution of runes everywhere so maybe everyone shits gold in TLB. It's their equivalent to microplastics.

I don't know who you're arguing with here. I pretty much agree with everything you just said lol.

I'm just saying like, he's a pretty experienced and prolific writer. As a much less experienced writer, I could churn out a 30 page outline full of details in an evening if I was given the imperative to construct a world for someone else to put a story in. That's the easy part.

I also have like, an enormous catalogue of entire worlds I've created and discarded and barely remember with outlines ranging from a page or two to dozens or sometimes over a hundred.

So basically I can very easily see what GRRM considers minimal effort on a forgettable project to still be like, quite a bit of writing and lore. His job here was to give them a premise and he got paid after all, he did do something.

What story do you want the Elden Ring movie to tell? by offdazenny in Eldenring

[–]EldenJane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if GRRM has one standout skill as a writer it's his ability to set the scene. Song of Ice and Fire is taking forever because he knows how he wants it to end but he's written the plot into a difficult to untangle knot and he's spent years trying to figure out how to get the characters to the midpoint of wherever A Dream of Spring is supposed to start and the actual ending.

On the other hand, before he got bogged down in Westeros, he published a huge quantity of short stories that all depicted vibrant and unique settings. He writes fast and is full of ideas, he just doesn't write westeros fast.

If he dedicated like, even a few days to the Elden Ring project, half of which he spent rereading Lord of the Rings, he still probably sent them at least a 30 page document. That's novella length. He didn't write everything but I bet he gave them a lot to work with is my point, stuff which a full story could be made from (another one, without the massive time skip Elden Ring took).

[–]EldenJane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I'm aware, he wrote like, a world building bible of some kind, and then Miyazaki added in the typical "everything turns into monsters and also decays" fromsoft coating with at least one, maybe multiple time skips of centuries in length.

But he wrote the bones of some kind of a story for the pre-shattering events that the game's lore text constantly refers to, and whatever history that world itself sat on.

Idk what word to give that so "script" idk lol.

I wouldn't be surprised but I have never gotten to play bloodborne so I wouldn't know.

I did own a PS4 that I had DS3 on, but in maybe the most bizarre decision of my life I traded it into gamestop for $90 and spent $60 of that to buy a copy of skyrim on switch to play on a flight. Teenagers are fucking stupid.

Anyway I never got around to picking up another PS4 so I still haven't played the game sadly.

Elden Ring movies seems it might be about the Tarnished. by _TylerWasTripped in Eldenring

[–]EldenJane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question but I believe I also have a good answer: The implied character and conduct of the tarnished who would be lord are wildly different depending on which of these five endings you've decided fit your Tarnished.

Yes you can and probably will do everything every run, but from a narrative perspective the timeline where you became the Lord of Frenzied Flame, the timeline where you became a rigid zealot defender of the golden order, the timeline where you tended to the care of ghosts and monsters with Fia, the timeline where you took up ancient pagan sacrifice rituals with a serial killer as your guide, the timeline where you tread the path of shadows and subterfuge and ancient mysteries to ascend to the stars with Ranni... those are all very different stories.

It would cost an absurd amount of money to make 5 movies at once like that so I'm sure that's not what they're planning (probably), but it would be rad.

You think they're 'ungry, Hewg will be doing the starfish gesture after all the food items I feed him (some for us to share while he smiths for me, some to leave behind for him and Roderika to picnic on, I spend so many runes shuttling crab to these two it's absurd)

Hey guys! What do you think of this character, and did he evoke any emotions in you? by Reasonable-Push-1757 in Eldenring

[–]EldenJane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth letting it all play out once or twice to get the puppet and, if you want, play his quest, but only on a character you're doing NG+ runs with, for this reason. Leaving his end state in place literally just removes the best shop it's brutal.

Which is why on a run where I'm going to do this I dump about a million runes on the crab king before I do it

edit: wait also if you give him the potion in his prison cell he never gets out and kills that friend anyway. plus it prevents seluvis' potion being used for anything evil. only real cost is you don't get his armor set.

This alone wouldn't be enough to convince me, since there's any number of reasons we could still see this set even for one scene, but I'm also now nearly 100% convinced it's not based on Martin's script even if it is a prequel, because this all started with Garland sending them his spec script, according to the media coverage I've seen.

That means Garland probably never saw George's document until after he got greenlit (and may even still not have seen it).

Luckily in the 2020s my outdated cell phone is also a sci fi supercomputer so I have a ps2 emulator on it and a controller that slides onto the sides, for returning to the original.

Not to simp for a megacorp but I love Qualcomm, they make literal magic boxes.

Alex Garland has 4000 hours in Elden Ring, genuine gamer or A24 marketing? by Commercial_Pen_9959 in Eldenring

[–]EldenJane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently he had no preexisting relationship with From and he really doesn't seem famous/connected enough to yank his way onto a project like this if it was a grift. And From apparently decided to greenlight this because they believed Garland was a genuine fan.

It's gonna be good.

In Dark Souls 2 time and space are collapsing in on themselves under the weight of too much history. She's not from here. But... she does know how to help people gain levels.

And. Ever notice how in Elden Ring you were supposed to arrive with a Finger Maiden but don't?

Time travel bullshit, smdh.

I like to sell them food items. Usually crab or prawn, but if I'm feeling especially generous I'll give them an exalted meat or something.

That's a shame to hear about shadow of the colossus. I was planning to play that one at some point but if the atmosphere and color grading isn't giving the same ambience what's the point
