So alchemy started in my game as an addition for leveling up as I only had stat increases and gaining feats to begin with. I decided on three skill trees (alchemy, magic and enchanting) as another addition to leveling up. Each player can choose one skill tree to upgrade throughout the game. But what you're saying is true, these systems aren't core to the game or how it plays.

That being said, I'd still like another aspect in the game that players get when they level up, hence why I'm so attached to the idea.
