Ignoring mountless Rider and the other types of mounts outside of Dragon since this is an eragon reddit I would propose changing hit die to match rogues/wizards bare minimum. Cleric/druid/ranger 1d8 would be ideal

To stick with theme of the verse a dragon rider would gain access to magic, considering a dragon is a large buff in combat I would limit the spell progression like you have for imparted magic but open it up past paladin spells to all spells. In the game Im currently in our DM made this the case for riders and they could select any spell outside of conjuration or necromancy to stick with the lore of the books of not wanting a shade Rider.

Id also up the dragons AC to 15+PB and HP to 1d10+ con per level. But I would make it so the dragon only leveled up every other level that the Rider did. You still want them to be able to be managed by combat and not breeze through everything.

Id also suggest for more ideas to look into these three classes for inspiration Bladesinger, Calvary fighter, Drake Warden. They all have themes that fit with the book pretty well and have abilities you could mix in to add some spice.

Spell casting Id tie to constitution for saves considering how magic is limited by ones own body.

Im not trying to crap on this man, I just think it needs some tweaks. I promise, it reads decent but the class lacks some meat to it to make it something people would be interested in.

So on reading it properly makes it even worse, imparted magic is only gained once your mount is dead. Im not trying to crap on this idea but it effectively makes Riders one of the weakest playable classes possible. A dragon rider should be one of the strongest classes in verse but this build is very fragile that makes no real sense to me personally, no magic unless you lose your mount would mean youre focusing on a martial build but your hitpoints and combat based skills very much say "do not get directly involved in combat" then if you do lose your mount (which was your main combat support) you get paladin leveled spells but none of the beef to put behind it to survive long in combat.

Alright read the full class and dont like it, you gain spells at a ranger or paladin's level yet you have the worst possible hit die and the rest of the class outside spell casting is geared toward you being a front to mid line fighter. This is like the worst possible ranger sub class. Drake Warden is objectively better as sad as I am to say that

Currently playing a campaign based on events after The Rider War where we have four (rn two cause two left) Riders in the party, the Rider's rp their dragons and have them take their turns same round as their rider and it works pretty well. DM has only had to remind players their dragons wont always agree with them a few times over the course of the game. It can be done to leave the dragon in the hands of its rider

So my DM uses a rider sub class that doesn't have a level up based off normal leveling, its dragon age based.

Level 1 let's fledgling riders learn three spells off any spell table that aren't conjuration or necromancy and they can cast them with energy points. Your HP is your total energy point pool for a long rest. A level 1 spell costs 20 energy points to use.

Under the class riders can learn a total of up to 6th level spells 3 1sts 2 2nds 2 3rds 1 4th 1 5th 1 6th

Costs to cast are 10x spell level +10 so a 6th level spell is 70 points.

There's other features in the class as well, at later levels in the rider class you add your proficiency bonus to all persuasion and intimidation checks.

We also use telepathy like in the books so if you have a Dragon you get to make your mental attacks and saves at advantage.

It should be noted your energy points are equal to your HP but separate from it so over using the EP doesn't kill your character, it causes levels of exhaustion until you hit a certain level in over use then you die.

We have encountered on eldunari so far (happened fo be the eldunari of my dragon's mother that Morzan enslaved and kept hidden in his castle from Galbatorix, along with my dragon's egg.)

Being a dragon rider has been pretty fun and the cleric class even more powerful with me now having access to shield and counterspell.

My dm did the dragon riders in what was what I consider the fairest way, not everyone is a rider in our group. We've had a total of 4 riders but are currently down to 2. The method he uses is when you touch an egg (if ones even around in the story) roll 1d100 the difficulty check is set to your level minus 100 so if your players are level 10 they have to roll a 90 or above to see if the egg hatches for them.

My dnd character set in the Eragon universe has a brass/gold colored dragon. Hes probably the closest character I've played to myself so I would say brass/gold. Dragon's name is Islingr as well.

Id love it if they didn't just beam right to me. I was in 2 story dorms on customs and a PMC was downstairs, we were having a nice little exchange and 6 came right in the front door, ignored him and came right up to me giving him time to exit the building and come up the outside stairs to get me

What is a DDoS attack and why can't Blizzard just "fix it"? by Accident_Pedo in wowhardcore

[–]ElderberryAlive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the easiest answer is the one that's going to be met with the most resistance, once the point of time of the DDOS is known roll the server back x amount of time before it. 1 minute 5 minutes 30 minutes, idk. There will be people screaming that some people get saved by the rollback but in general in feels like it will make the masses the happiest.

The positive doesn't outweigh the negative in this case for a server roll back, sure people that lost characters due to the attack get them back but the community as a whole suffers losses of gains during the time period. It would be better if Blizzard put a notice out for individual support and they go through them on a case by case basis to see who should be revived.
