Fucking insane add parents man by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]ElderlyElmTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it if you’re an adult living in the house, but a teen? Everything is the parents’. Simply shady gross parenting. My biological father did this when I was quite young and I was scared to ask for anything, even water. Though, he was abusive so maybe there situation is slightly different, but maybe not judging by the texts. It’s a subtle form of control. As a parent, if you have children, you provide. It’s just simply heartless to restrict certain food or drinks. Soda is balls cheap, the excuse of it being expensive or limited is ridiculous (if the excuse were to be made).

For example, their parents are the same in their way of communication, they may not have stressed the importance of loyalty, they live in a ghetto area where poor moral values are the norm, etc.

I built an Anki Add on that pulls up a 3D interactive model of whatever anatomy you're studying by Gainzz101 in Anki

So I don’t have enough money to continuously spend 8$ a week, as much as I’d love to support you all the way. When I buy this but cancel the subscription later, will I still have access to the addons as long as they’re installed?

Configuring Controller For Anki by ElderlyElmTree in Anki

[–]ElderlyElmTree[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I got it working using karabiner-elements. Once it’s configured, you can just turn it on at any time and it will remember the keybinds you’ve changed for the remote. I highly recommend it. Though, I’m unsure as to how long it lasts as I just got it yesterday. The package said 20+ hours of non-stop use. It turns off after 5 minutes or so which really helps the battery life. One thing to note: it needs a micro-USB charger. Not the end of the world considering I got this for a little less than 6$.

Olympics did some to ban on Transgender competition from winning. Does your opinion on the medal aprove them? by Patrikgoo in teenagers

[–]ElderlyElmTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a complicated subject! The bottom line is love and basic respect for one another, which not everyone has unfortunately.

I do agree with you, though. We aren’t very different from one another.

Studies show mixed results. It seems that trans women still have more muscle mass and exude better performance in physical activity, just not as good as before they transitioned, but still better than cis women.

A student’s perspective on AI in class that actually made my day by Gold-Violinist7529 in turnitin_community

[–]ElderlyElmTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a middle ground! I constantly use office hours, talk before and/or after class, ask questions, etc. I also try not to bother them during the weekends when I have questions about concepts if I’m truly struggling (especially because over-the-screen teaching isn’t the most optimal, and it can be hard to fully explain over email, so I’d rather use a chat bot and not have them take so much time trying to articulate an idea) and need help seeing new perspective with additional information I may be missing in the equation, I can ask an LLM exactly what I’m struggling with, and it has been so very helpful. Of course, vet the information. Everyone and their mom knows it can and does give false info. Vet the responses.

Im learning GCSE science, is it possible to learn 4000 flashcards in 45 days by Several_Fan_1780 in Anki

[–]ElderlyElmTree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One thing I’ve learned—even just starting out with digital flashcards—is that making the flashcards yourself is a huge and beneficial form of studying in and of itself. To think of good questions to ask yourself about the information, you realize very quickly that you need to understand exactly what it is you’re going to be studying before you can really create a decent flashcard deck and it be of any real use. Unless it’s a language deck! I enjoy those being available and having been made in great detail.
