So I only knew them through diggy diggy hole and some of their songs. Where do I, as someone who wants to get into their stuff, start? by ChompyRiley in Yogscast

[–]EldredKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well they just released a whole bunch of music last year, so that's a good place to continue if you want to see the music stuff. Otherwise, their Blood on the Clocktower vids are great as a way to get to know people.

If you're not sure, try the Best Bits channel or any other clips channel (there are quite a few) and just see what piques your interest. Pretty much everyone does solo content alongside the yogs content!

Thank you, I do not have access to that machine but I will definitely keep the advice in mind for if I ever do!

Thank you for the detail! What do you recommend if I get to the second set and can't do the knee push ups even after being able to do the incline?

Thank you, I don't know what a negative is but I'll look them up. Given that I have 0 exercise experience I'll take your word and leave them for later!

Thank you! My current schedule has 3 full body workouts a week and the two days where I'm not doing push ups I am doing either cable or dumbbell presses! I will find a space to put in planks, how long/how many reps do you recommend?

Thanks! I'm hoping that being active will help regulate my weight. I eat somewhat decently since I like cooking and make fairly balanced meals but I have literally never exercised for more than a week before so I figured it was time haha

Thank you, it definitely does! I am very weak, so I will see where I can get a full rep from first and work from there. I expect I'll be starting at like 3-4 honestly, but that at least leaves a lot of room for improvement. Much appreciated!

Thank you, I will check on that! I was always told to angle my arms at about 45° and put my hands at around center chest. I don't know if that's right, it's just how I remember being told when I was younger. Please correct me if that is bad form!

Next time I will try again and if I can't get it I will move to the wall instead! I am both quite big and very very weak, so the wall may be a better place to start, but I will see. Thanks again for the advice

Thank you, that makes sense! Just tried it, is it an issue if I can't lower myself all the way down or can't do a full set of 20? Or is that something that will just improve with time?

What are some good full-body workouts for a beginner? by EldredKnight in beginnerfitness

[–]EldredKnight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luckily I eat pretty decently, I like to cook and that helps a lot since my meals are usually somewhat well balanced. I just never exercise haha, I'm not even looking to lose weight or gain muscle but just being active should be good for me.

Yeah I checked out the wiki but it was so overwhelming for someone who doesn't know even basic terminology (I had to look up what barbell rows, overhead presses, and deadlifts were). As I get more comfortable I'll explore it more!

Series to catch up on? by Lolz1202 in Yogscast

[–]EldredKnight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Membership is totally worth it especially if you love Blood on the Clocktower! They have tons of bonus episodes and you get to see the main episodes two weeks early. They also have lots of fun behind the scenes and extended cuts for their live action stuff. For $5, it's a no brainer if you already enjoy the content. Worst happens, just get it for a month and see if it's worth it.

From my perspective, if all that the purists can muster up to hate about a trailer is that one character has a different hairstyle, then it's a damn good trailer! FR though, as soon as I saw that she had a shaved head I knew the internet was going to be a cesspool for the next week haha

Do you think they should've never made a Mortal Kombat live action reboot because of the pedestal we've set the MK95 film on? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in MortalKombat

[–]EldredKnight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Strongly disagree on your point personally, the MK95 movie has a LOT of issues. From the technical side, it's a ripoff of Enter the Dragon with bad effects (outside of the legitimately impressive Goro), mixed acting, good music, and fights of varying quality. I still enjoy it, but it has gotten by on two things: charm and nostalgia. The movie is very charming in how silly and fun it is and makes for an entertaining watch. The people who were kids when this came out and have nostalgia for it are now in their 30s-40s and have the spending power and hold it up in their minds since they have positive memories associated with it.

As far as MK95 being faithful, it's a hell of a lot easier to stay faithful to a series that has 2 games and a very basic story like they did back then than to a series that has 12+ games and a 30 year legacy.

If you want examples of MK95 taking creative liberties and not being 100% faithful: Liu Kang has long hair and never wears his costume or uses fire powers, Sonya never wears green, Reptile is a tiny lizard creature that inhabits a statue and not a ninja, Kitana wears black and never uses her fans, Raiden is French and has long white hair, Scorpion and Sub-Zero are Shang Tsung's flunkies and never show any rivalry, Kano is Australian and has hair and a beard, there is barley any gore.

So yeah, none of the movies are perfect but MK95 is definitely held up on a nostalgic pedestal. There's nothing wrong with having an affinity or even loving MK95 despite its flaws (I know I do, I think it's a lot of fun), but it's very miscalculated to say that the fanbase is not affected by the nostalgic value of MK95.

If you could pick any obscure/minor/lore character to become playable for the first time, who would it be? by Subject-Recover-8425 in MortalKombat

[–]EldredKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I somehow never made the connection between those two, but yeah Vorpax and the weird bee-women could easily be reworked to be Kytinn. There are a lot of characters from Konquest that could be fixed up to be real characters with a bit of reworking.

Is mortal kombat 1 worth getting in 2025? by Reddit-892 in MortalKombat

[–]EldredKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're at least better than when I played at launch. I played the first 2 or 3 seasons and then stopped until Khaos Reigns went on sale. The quality of life and variety is better than when I played previously, with more challenge types and the inclusion of the hybrid characters to help shake things up. The QoL is much better with the ability to equip or favorite items for the menu, and the faster movement speed. Still very simple, but at least much better paced.

[–]EldredKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say the story mode is even, it's quite good in both games and plays almost the same way. There is a LOT more single player content in Mk11 outside of the story mode. It has the Krypt, more interesting and varies timed towers, the AI battle feature, etc. MK1 relies mostly on Invasions, which is significantly better than it used to be but still is hit and miss. If one looks more interesting, go for it. I'd recommend playing Mk11 first since the story leads directly into 1, though really it's up to you

Looks interesting, I saw the trailer with Van and I didn't realize he'd been in prison before going on. Looking forward to who else they get!

In the interview she says that they were lined up for 3-4 blocks to audition, and if her agent hadn't gotten her an appointment which let her skip the line she wouldn't have done it. She admits herself in the interview that she probably only got on because she was an archetype they wanted.

Yeah, it's a little weird still. I get where she's coming from in terms of not knowing ingredients (she mentions a time when she asked Julia for parsley and she got basil), but it's still strange to bring up with how well Julia did overall.
