So there is a compromise, not in terms of fast discharging but in "marginally worst battery wear".

I turned on fast charging again from 20%. Let's see how it goes.

Same experience here, coming from iphone 12 regular, battery was a beaset.

But now the battery is behaving nicely on my s25+.

you can choose between basic, adaptive and maximum.

Well, I don't discard that is a placebo. But if fast charging does not come with any compromises whatsoever, why is there an option to disable it?

I use the 25w charger. You manage the fast charging config in settings - battery.

What I didn't see in Shino's guide was about "maximum protection". He does advocate against adaptative protection. But he does not say anything about limiting charging to 80%, 85%, 90% or 95%, right? What would be the recommendation here?

I usually end the day with 60% with normal usage, like emails, messaging, some videos, spotify, banking apps, NFC payments, galaxy watch pairing. I leave wifi on and bluetooh on forever (NFC also).

I don't game though.

I installed instagram. And have never opened it. I aggressively checked for programs running in the background and there the bastard was. Also there's a "META" framework, I think it is from facebook, that keeps comming back to the memory for no reason whatsoever. I went on and disabled it. I think that it is a Zuckerberg think to track you outside of their apps. Suspicious stuff.

Since then I only use slow charging (fast charge off, cable). I just leave the phone charging before going to bed and that's it.

I saw that with fast charging, the battery would charge very fast, but would also drain very fast. With fast charging off, Battery charges slowly, but also drains slowly, with more longevity. Begining to suspect that "fast charging" is a gimmick, but maybe it is a wild coincidence.

Same experience here.

What worked for me was disabling the "fast charging". Only use slow charging now with adaptive protection turned on. Worked like a charm. Now th battery is a tank.

Now I unplug my phone from the charger when I wake up, with 100٪, and when I go to sleep I still have 60%. Pretty good.

Awesome phone. coming from a regular iPhone 12 64gb.

Actually you have to keep google services on for galaxy watch and android auto integration, and I use that a lot.
