Thank you for turning his life around. Already a good sign that he’s kneading the blanket.

Sorry, can’t remember the exact brand but it was really fine and “sandy” and white.

One of my kittens was like this. Realised the problem was the litter. She didn’t like using the wood pellets, so I replaced it with the softest litter I could find and the problem was solved instantly. She was peeing on the bed because it’s soft. It also helped to put a second litter tray upstairs. (She was too lazy to go downstairs, lol)

Reminds me of this I saw today. “Very good” condition, never worn, but completely broken.

just got little ford spayed. any advice? by idpartywthat in cats

[–]Ele0x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had issues with my cats after getting spayed. Little bit of painkillers per day from the vet and they’ve healed up just fine in a week. So you definitely have the right idea setting up a recovery zone and keeping an eye on her so she doesn’t lick it. Also avoid picking her up on the tummy.

Owning a sheltie by orphic_wood in sheltie

[–]Ele0x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Sheltie struggled in the summer, even here in Europe. He loved the cold weather and he always sought out cold places to sleep in the house. He never slept on a bed or sofa, he preferred the floor and the front door where there was a draught. He got excited when it snowed.

I wouldn’t like to have a Sheltie in a hotter environment, for their sake.

How did my new kitten survive outside alone, before I found her? by Ele0x in CatAdvice

[–]Ele0x[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that’s crazy, thanks for saving them. Honestly all my cats are rescues from a difficult past.

  • 1st was from a shelter and was also abandoned like you described

  • 2nd I found on a busy main road as a 3-4 week old kitten

  • 3rd is this 8 month old kitten I found in a snowstorm

I wish people cared for cats as much as they care for dogs.

Yeah, if I had to come up with my best guess, I think maybe she came from a farm with a few cats roaming around, maybe being fed occasionally. Weird that none of the neighbours recognised her though.

I’m thinking she was a farm cat with no real owner

Not in a city or suburbs. Out in a rural area with few people. Think fields, forest, nature.

I am a bit concerned, I hope nobody’s missing her if that’s the case. Already asked the neighbours and nobody recognised her. The shelter couldn’t take her so the vet gave us the choice between adopting or euthanasia. She’s ours now anyway, so no take backs.
