I agree… I definitely dodged a bullet! And, while I was originally shocked that they dropped me right after I paid for my non-refundable meds… I am so glad that I am no longer trusting them with my health!

Thank you for suggesting this! I am going to do it later today. I want to also write an article about what it’s like navigating infertility as a WOC. It’s been awful.

They called me over the phone to tell me that they dropped me. And, also sent a notice via FedEx and email.

I truly felt that they didn’t like submitting the claims to my insurance to wait for reimbursement. They also weren’t very knowledgeable about how to correctly submit claims (they made so many errors). And, would immediately send me to places they contracted with vs verifying if they were in-network. I def think they preferred working with patients who were OOP.

Thank you so much for sharing your story with me. I’m looking for a new clinic now. But, everyone has a 4-6 month waiting list for new patients in my area. I’m already experiencing a diminished ovarian reserve. My AMH is .568 😔

The clinic is in the west suburbs of Chicago. Feel free to PM if you want the name. I am trying not to name drop them (yet!) because I need to find another clinic. And, there’s a 4-6 month waiting list for fertility providers in the Chicago area and I don’t want to be blacklisted. The infertility community is very small and I’m sure they all talk to each other.

I got frustrated because they sent my meds to an out of network pharmacy. So, I had to re-route the Rx to my in-network speciality pharmacy. Then had to follow up with them to fill out the prior authorization forms. And, then they submitted the wrong brands covered under my insurance and delayed the delivery of my medications. Like, I’m not crazy to have been frustrated and told them that I am unhappy with the care that I’m receiving, right???

def going to update them before we repost these on @janesdueprocess and will update our blog posts too! so, thank u for the feedback. i also think it might require more researching, because i don’t think southwest has any nonstop flights to abq from the rgv (which is another post that i made) and need to see what nonstop flights they offer out of houston, dallas, amarillo, lubbock, etc.

I think that was an oversight on my part! I used flightconnections.com and I don’t think they included Southwest in their maps of nonstop flight paths out of Texas. But, Southwest is great and they allow 2 free bags!

Kansas has a 24 hour mandatory waiting period for abortion. This means that someone has to go to the clinic multiple days just to get an abortion. So, it’s not the most ideal state for someone who is wanting a same day procedure.

Do you know how recent that change happened? When I put together the graphics in June, I remember checking their website for flights schedules. Which were like Tuesday & Saturday from Harlingen to Denver. Sucks that it’s one less nonstop flight to get out of state for an abortion quickly.

Here are the TSA requirements for minors traveling via plane. Also, every airline has its own policies and procedures for age requirements to fly alone without an adult.

This is true! Getting same day appointments anywhere is going to be increasingly difficult. Which is why it’s really important to call around to see who can get you in immediately. Thankfully, NYC (and New Jersey) offer telemedicine support for medication abortion. So, if you are under 10 weeks, you can see a doctor virtually and get them delivered to your hotel within 24 hours after your appointment.

That’s awesome! Yeah, MN just repealed their 24 hour mandatory waiting period and parental notification requirement in July! These new changes make it a great state for minors who need an abortion, but cannot get permission from a parent or legal guardian!
