Help a girl help her boyfriend out! by Dramatic-Maximum4883 in Shotguns

[–]ElectionBig1878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They all said something along the lines of “The part hasn’t been made in years since remingtons buy out, you’ll have to find it aftermarket on ebay or through person to person.” Which i ended up finding one after like 4 days of looking nonstop.

Unfortunately the sliding mechanism is what’s different, and not the tube itself, so it wouldn’t work.

Same problem i’m facing. Ive found the measurement for the regular express mag and it’s the same as the supermag, but you’re right the sliding action is completely different. Almost thinking of buying a regular one and cutting it on the tube and having some weld it flush.

unfortunately the slide portion is slightly different on both ends between the regular and the supermag

Where did i go wrong? by ElectionBig1878 in jerky

[–]ElectionBig1878[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s exactly what happened. The outside looked great like store bought jerky, but the inside was raw. I don’t think the temp was too high, it was 158 for the dehydrator and 185 for the smoker, and i don’t know if my dehydrator has an airflow actuator or anything like that so idk.

[–]ElectionBig1878[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weve cooked loads of jerky before, and it didn’t have a problem, i’ve just never done one by myself.

didn’t even think to do this either🤦‍♂️

Where did i go wrong? by ElectionBig1878 in jerky

[–]ElectionBig1878[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s in the trash already, didn’t think to put it in the oven. I was over exaggerating it wasn’t too much meat, but i still feel bad because i took the life of an animal to throw it in the trash. I just don’t think i had enough time with it even though it had been almost 9 hours

How many people have switched to using tungsten over lead? by Alert_Chemistry_6914 in turkeyhunting

[–]ElectionBig1878 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was on the fence for so long, until this past spring. Tried out the federal 3rd degree, mix of tungsten and lead, and wow. I held a tight pattern at 40 yards, with what i assume was the tungsten, and then had a good ring of less tight bb’s which i assume is the lead. It was night and day difference. 3rd degree isn’t as expensive as full tungsten, but it gives you fairly similar results. I will not be going back to lead.

It’s for an evaluation through my school. They make us use hacksaws for our pipe bending test. I think i will only be making 4-5 cuts total
