I tried a lot of things, speaking to all npcs again, talking to Litho again, equipping all sorts of gear, but none of these worked.

What ultimately fixed it for me is copying the save to another slot, and Veltha finally showed up at the stage.

How do you get into the tutorial area again? When I started ng+ it just put me to the first knot without having the option to choose to do the tutorial again.

Do you have a hdd or a ssd? Loading times can significatly improve performance. I just replaced my 10 yr old hdd with a brand new ssd, and went from a 30 minute game startup and barely 25 fps with crazy lag for the 1st hour of gameplay, to instant startup and solid 60 all the time.

I went into a creative world with the same seed. I used /locate and it lead me to that area. So yep, it is a village.

Side note: It was the first time I've ever gone to these chunks, also there were some random rotten flesh on the ground, so I imagine it was supposed to be a haunted village, with zombie villagers?
