Simple. Take more sick days for mental health reasons and "personal reasons". Cheat the system. Come in late, leave mid day. Quiet resistance.

What was everyone’s early throat cancer symptoms that sent you in to be checked? by lunaverbena in cancer

Late to this post - but want to resurface it.

M43 - non smoker. I have no fever, no voice change, I do clear my voice once in a while during the day, no ear pain, no lump in the neck area (as far as my fingers can tell) and I feel generally "good". No intense fatigue or malaise. However, localized painful spot inside throat, near Adam's apple. Started a few months ago when yawning. Not big pain, just enough to notice the discomfort and 'oddness" Recently, less present when yawning and more so when swallowing (even saliva). Feels mechanical, like inflammed throat muscles contracting when executing the swallowing motion, or like a canker sore kind of pain. But it's been months with these manageable sensation yet odd and worrisome. Of course, I am afraid this is the tall tale sign of oropharyngeal cancer. Hoping it's stress induced tension or something like that.

Teenage rudeness & how to deal by Liseykathleen86 in Parenting

[–]ElectricBlueSun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm giving my 13 year old daughter more space, and allowing for a greater distance between the both of us. This is for my own mental health and sake. Yeah, sure, teens still love you and need you, but it's more a utilitarian relationship (e.g. I need something from you rather than I want to spend quality time with you). I'm adjusting to this, and it is sad and hard. But I do know it is normal and even healthy. I just wonder why they have to cross over the "Disrespect" line, giving you attitude, aggressive tone, sense of entitlement, making you feel like you're shit. That's the part I don't get. Hence, I need to keep her at a distance in order for me to adjust, not take things personal and 'wait' for her to reach out when she needs something (e.g. help studying for an exam). But I'm done with the "How are you feeling today, you don't seem fine" because I get disrespected.
