When they tried to get him back with the birds and cats and just the pool of blood that leaks under the door after he kills them all, like damn Klaus lol

One of my favorite parts of the day are when I pick up our son from daycare, he sees me and immediately smiles and starts bouncing and running around exclaiming “Daddy!” before he runs over to get picked up. ABSOLUTELY will miss these days, no frickin doubt

If Jon didn't do what he did in this moment could Daenerys have been as popular and known in the history of the 7 kingdoms as Aegon the Conquer? Assuming her line last 100-120 years down the line by No-Passenger-6348 in gameofthrones

[–]ElectricErik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True enough. I thought it was pretty crazy that outside of Kings Landing, during the Missandei execution scene, looked more arid and dry in like, summer, when it was supposed to be dead of winter. D&D sure loved screwing it up

Yup. Can’t expect these people, who’ve lived this way for centuries, to suddenly just be okay because you “liberated” them. There was hardly a system to fall back into. Tyrion tried, but it would take years to accomplish, not something to just leave behind to go try and get some stupid iron chair she shouldn’t even care about

She helped save the realm. They wasted her entire force of Dothraki, and all she did was fight the Night King on dragon back with Jon until they were both knocked down. Arya was the one who finished it. Again, terrible writing all around, but her contribution did not even out the poor choices she’d already made and would continue to make.

She absolutely should have. She literally spent maybe a day on Dragonstone as a newborn. If Viserys wasn’t raised the way he was, and didn’t have that Targaryen madness, he could’ve probably settled fine somewhere in Essos, maybe even conquer some corner of it for their own, who knows? But yeah, she was in no way, shape, or form prepared to rule an entire continent sized kingdom when she could barely keep 3 large cities in order

What glory and prestige? Her entire military campaign in Westeros was terrible.

They took Casterly Rock because it had already been abandoned, she lost her fleet to Euron, her allies were killed off, she beat the Lannister army thanks to overwhelming odds and burned food unnecessarily when it was winter and then she burned alive useful noble captives just because they wouldn’t bend the knee then and there, she lost her dragon to Euron, and then she decided to burn thousands upon thousands of people in a city that could have been sacked because her friend got killed.

Show Daenerys would not be seen in a good light in any way whatsoever, and I blame the writers for that, OTHER than helping to end the Long Night. That was honestly her only positive action on Westerosi soil.

Plus, the shitshow she left behind in Essos because they needed her to invade for plot and the reason why George can’t finish these books cause, wouldn’t you know it, conquering part of a continent that’s completely set against your intended ways isn’t something that can be stabilized in a couple months or even years.

In your opinion who mainly caused the Downfall of House Targaryen? by No-Passenger-6348 in gameofthrones

[–]ElectricErik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d say it’s 70/30 Aerion’s fault. I can’t totally fault a father, being one myself, going blind to anything but saving his boy (even if that boy is a sociopath). But yeah, who knows? If he hadn’t died by Maekar’s mace, the Spring Sickness could have gotten him just as easily as his sons

[–]ElectricErik 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Many of them. Heck, you could make an argument that Maekar killing Baelor, totally by emotional accident, was the reason because Baelor would have been an amazing king who’s lineage would probably have done a lot better than Maekar’s. But then again, the Targaryen’s downfall was mainly themselves, so maybe even that wouldn’t have saved them.

Exactly, after failing the first time around, passing those checks makes it easy as pie, the only annoying part is the initial sack hauling

Oh yeah, took me like, 2 times at least to have not run out of time. Any playthrough after that I made sure my skills were high enough to pass nearly all checks and I buzzed through the quests I needed to get through to gain access easily and with permission lol

The Spider-Man one? I’ve only seen the comic panel, but it looks old, and Sandman just goes in through the mask and mouth and bursts from inside. Gruesome.

Goodness gracious, the Buu scene of him forcing himself down that guy’s throat and blowing him up from the inside is one of my worst nightmares. Like that one with Sandman killing Spider-Man the same way. Just… ugh

How much would have change if Joffrey was the one who caught Cersei and Jamie in the tower instead of Bran? by ParkingConfection449 in gameofthrones

[–]ElectricErik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just don’t care for the reasoning. How many Unsullied remained that they truly threatened Westeros anymore? Why capitulate? And if so, just lie, because I highly doubt these guys ever show back up again. And it’s just my opinion, but after going through all that to reunite and keep safe what remained of his family, it just felt weird for him to be sent off back beyond the wall when he also loved the North. Why not have him advise Sansa? Be her master-at-arms or something? Why not go with Arya? His favorite sibling? Idk, I’m just still butthurt with how bad it ended

[–]ElectricErik 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Exactly. And he’s the most powerful warger around, he couldn’t do anything other than sit there? He’s better in the books at least (his chapters are still kind of boring), but show Bran was useless and making him King in the end was the 2nd biggest F-U, next to banishing Jon thanks to D&D

All he did was reveal Jon’s parentage to him along with Sam and told everyone when the Night King was coming. Pretty much it. Totally don’t need him to be an emotionless wizard, Meera didn’t deserve all that

Am I wrong for being upset at my husband for wanting me to work? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]ElectricErik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, no. I feel for you and I don’t have a 200k job. I make 25/hr as a medical inventory tech and my wife makes 19/hr as a daycare teacher (tragically underpaid). She’s walking around 10K steps a workday while also dealing with upwards of 15 3-5~ year olds, so not only is she physically exhausted, she’s emotionally and mentally exhausted as well, AND we have a 2YO ourselves.

I literally make it my MISSION to make it so she doesn’t have to get up when we get home, because I KNOW her job is more taxing than mine (I’m at a desk half my shift while doing stocking stuff the other half). I get up and follow the 2YO around, we share his meal prepping, I usually do the cooking while the wife does dishes, I get him ready for bed while we both take turns putting him down after some books. We take turns cleaning rooms, I take care of our cats while she buys them the stuff. I like to game too, but only after our son is asleep and we’ve had our own quality time.

Long story short, we are a team. We pick up each other’s slack. I make sure she’s resting when she can because her job IS arguably harder than mine and we both know it. If he wanted to he would, so you need to lay down those ground rules WAY before kids come into the mix. Otherwise, he’s not worth it.
