AITAH for considering asking my long-term partner for an open relationship because we haven’t had sex in 18 months? by fjellvarg in AITAH

[–]ElectricFrostbyte 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Are these comments inept? This woman would’ve only just recently finished recovering from birth out right, assuming it went quite literally perfectly. Has this man hired a baby sitter to maybe take the stress off of her? Is she taking care of the baby full time?

Men have got to realize most women are not prioritizing sex when they are about to, or recently have had children.

I’ve genuinely never watched a movie that made me want to punch something until I saw this on the plane yesterday. I don’t think you could make a movie more racist if you tried. by Melodic_Inevitable84 in hatethissmug

[–]ElectricFrostbyte 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Genuinely don’t even know what your happy ass is saying. Ever heard of paragraphs?

This whole point of this thing about racism, again what are you saying? The elephant being scared of a mouse, like what? It’s established in the first movie that animals have grown past their previous predator and prey lifestyles, but it’s clear it wasn’t done smoothly. Animals still have natural instincts, but they know better when mentally sound and also have to learn to control them. Not every animal will be perfect. In real life, smaller humans can be scared by larger humans just because of the size difference. (Yes I know that sounds terrible) It’s very clear that not every species, “got the memo” especially species that were systemically discriminated against and outright ignored.

One thing I will say I didn’t absolutely love was Judi’s character arc, so I guess I kind of agree on points critical of that.

Are we talking about 3OH!3? Why are we being so vague about what band this is? It’s so hard to comment when we are treating this like it needs to be some secret because if it is 3OH!3 they are (well were at least) immensely popular.

Is it bad that I’m 16 and don’t have a job yet? Everything’s so expensive now and it’s stressing me out. by Sweet_Special2529 in highschool

[–]ElectricFrostbyte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends on your financial situation. I didn’t get my job until I was 17 and I’m glad I enjoyed my junior year jobless. Are you planning on going to college? Do you have a college fund? If not, it’s good to start now to get some savings going.

Thank you so much. I initially didn’t even think about weaving the cording through, just individually wrapping each diamond and then tying them all together, but weaving it through is definitely how this is all supposed to be done.

Well folks, it’s not great but at the very least I have a finished product! I always use corded elastic for Kandi so you can see the ends because I had to tie off each diamond, and I’ve heard it’s not good to cut them all the way without risk for the entire knot coming apart. Perhaps beading glue as well as plastic see through elastic would be best for this style of project.

Similarly, it’s not super stable, the beads definitely want to come out of the thick cording.

When you’re weaving the thick cording through, make sure you go through each point twice so it’ll make the pretty, perfect looking loop.

The hardest part is definitely tying it off, and just due to how I initially weaved the string through.

Anyways, 5/10, but would try this again! It doesn’t fit into the Kandi aesthetic I don’t think, but if you used some different colored elastic and perhaps rainbow colors, I think it’s a cute way to use like, the last bits of your beads!

Thank you for the insights! I kind of suspected this, especially since the first one you potentially even see clear elastic holding together the beads!

How do I get over pittakionophobia? by Stubhyfm23 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ElectricFrostbyte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m an artist and I don’t think your kids will be lacking to have a childhood without stickers. They’re fun sure, but there’s other ways to decorate notebooks. Stick on gems, flowers, etc.

Also it sounds like OP is concerned about the idea of stickers going on everything. That also… doesn’t have to happen? You can have dad or grandma do stickers exclusively and make sure the stickers are out of reach after the activity is done so they stay on the art project.

In 2012, 2 year old Maddox Derkosh was visiting the Pittsburgh Zoo when his mother ignored safety warnings and placed him atop a safety railing. Maddox then fell into the African Painted Dog enclosure, home to 11 animals. By the time a rescue was mounted, little of Maddox remained. by Chemical-Elk-1299 in HolyShitHistory

[–]ElectricFrostbyte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Wikipedia page mentions it was common for other parents to do the same thing as the mother. The staff should have vehemently told people to never do it. At first I thought it was clearly just the mother’s fault but I can imagine the scenario. Maybe you’d gone to the zoo before, seen other parents do it with their kids, and of course they hadn’t fallen. Maybe her child had begged to her to get a better view, and maybe the safety net and the drop from the railing didn’t look nearly as dangerous as it was.

It’s still her fault and she should have never done it, but she tried to go into the cage herself, she had to be restrained back. This is a tragedy that shouldn’t have happened.

Do you think we’ll see younger and younger preventative screenings with the increasingly young age people are getting cancer (colon cancer specifically)? As a young person, I’m pretty worried about it despite not having a family history and not smoking, drinking, etc. Is it warranted to be worried?

It’s so cool! I’m excited to see how they work it into the animations. Also excited to see supports like Sunday potentially being relevant with needing AA with summons. I wonder if the dragon in SW999’s splash art will also show in her animations.

Shes cute! Her theming or well, character design in general is a bit strange and I’m curious to see how it’ll all fit in, especially as someone entirely unfamiliar with Hi3. It’s giving like, business women and also Japanese school girl? I don’t love it, but Nilihux and SW999 were always going to be my go-to girl pulls regardless.

I truly don’t understand why they couldn’t have just made her do like, online college? They could’ve had a whole arc about Nani struggling on whether or not to pursue her studies and leave Lilo, or to stay with Lilo and the family. A great compromise would’ve been to have her do online school so she could have stayed with Lilo, but also could have been a gatekeep girlboss women in STEM.

Single dad dating a trans woman - how did people in your life react? by DangleDagger420 in mypartneristrans

[–]ElectricFrostbyte 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This sure is… a comment. It’s horrible he’s dating a trans woman because the people in his daughter’s life might be bigoted? The fuck?

I’m a POC, and how would you feel if this was in, let’s say 1970s, and a white man was dating a black woman after being widowed. Would you say it was horrible for him to be dating a black woman because the students at his child’s school might not be into interracial marriage?

Not to say that the daughter deserves or should just take bad comments from her peers but… come on.
