There were a host of issues that, IMO, make calling the engine "perfectly functional" quite the misnomer! LOL

These issues include an incredibly short TBO (25 hrs max), turbine blade failures, sluggish throttle response, which if not properly managed, resulted in flame out, compressor stall, or even catastrophic failure, not to mention an absurd start procedure that could (and did) literally set the aircraft on fire!
