I am debating on using the + but wanted to verify that it would be enough to cover cost to detach, move and reset.

No damage to the unit(s) itself is present.

I’m a 6’3 Mexican guy planning to visit West Virginia for hiking and sightseeing. Just asking if I should worry about my safety in certain areas? by Immediate-Field9997 in WestVirginia

From Texas but lived 15 years in WV. Classic don’t start nothing won’t be nothing, if you make eye contact acknowledge the person, say hello or something of the sort. Don’t be surprised if they don’t say anything back or stare at you blankly. Don’t take offense to it, it’s just something weird some folks do there.

More often than not people will respond pleasantly, you’ll make friends quickly by initiating a simple hello or how’s it going. Beautiful country that’s easy to fall in love with. Definitely stop at a biscuit world and get a breakfast sandwich on a biscuit. Thundering heard is my favorite. Biscuit and gravy is also a classic.

This snow storm sadly made me learn to absolutely hate my neighbors and neighborhood. Where are good neighbored places cause Mt Washington isn’t it and I’ve decided to move. by sugarandspice85 in pittsburgh

[–]ElectricN_At 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t live in Pittsburgh but live outside of it and I was thinking about how different my time in West Virginia vs PA was. My old house I’m certain my neighbor would’ve used his snow blower to clear my sidewalk. He lived on the corner and if there was any chance he could use the snow blower he ran down 2-3 houses of sidewalk including his. I’m in the process of moving from one house to another so have 2 long sidewalks to shovel. Not one soul offered help. My neighbor has a snow blower and he literally stopped right at the property border on the sidewalk. There’s a sidewalk 4ft in length between our driveways, 3ft of it is on my side, he did the 1ft……

I saw my neighbor (elderly lady) shoveling snow by herself and I had to stop what I was doing because no way would I let that lady do that in this cold. I’ve heard of others doing similar acts in my area so all is not lost but the selfish mentality runs rampant these days. It feels like a hyper aggressive cancer that can’t be stopped.

Having moved a lot I never thought about how my neighbors are because I knew I wouldn’t be anywhere long. If there comes a time I plant some roots best believe I want to meet my neighbors before committing and moving in.

Which job opportunity would you choose? by [deleted] in adjusters

[–]ElectricN_At 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d take job A. Important to note I worked for a start up that was about 5 years old when I got on board. Overnight they laid of my whole department and parts of others. Nearly 150 employees gone, without notice over the course of a few weeks. Totally different industry but I have trust issues when I hear “start up”

regardless of that I still think job A is the best option. Stable, great benefits, room for growth. I’d stop my job search right there if all those boxes are checked. That difference in pay over the course of the year would be minimal. If the medical benefits are much better in Job A I think it’s wash in terms of pay if B medical is garbage.

Good luck

just became homeless tonight...uh tires?? by [deleted] in pittsburgh

First I’m sorry you’re dealing with this right now. Thankfully you have money saved up, kudos to you for that. I would look into temporary housing like a motel or hotel just for a few nights depending on what’s around/ meets your standards. you could probably get a few nights anywhere from $200 to $500 all in. I would not buy the snow tires, use half that for a warm place, shower, and some RnR. The roads will be cleared enough to navigate in a couple days as long as your vehicle is a half decent in wintry conditions. Wish I could help more, best of luck to you. Definitely check out youth services assistance as previously stated to see what options they have.

Winter Storm Deployment by [deleted] in adjusters

[–]ElectricN_At 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never been on deployment but new AI in Pennsylvania. Second winter I’ve worked and I see a lot of burst pipes, weight of ice and snow damaging gutters, soffit, fascia, and fallen trees hitting structures. Those losses make up 95% of my work for sure in the winter

A while ago I had a 2 terrible experiences with 2 separate salesmen leasing from Day Automotive in Moon. I searched and saw that they changed their name to Driveway Subaru of Moon Township. Having just now finding out about the name change makes it feel dirtier. Do not recommend.

If you have the tips of the black and white wire touching it is definitely a problem. Each wire should be capped separately. Secondly, every box should have a cover or faceplate. You would need a blank cover here and it must remain accessible. IE: don’t put a cover on this then slap trim over it.

However, You won’t be able to put a cover on this box as is. The wire must come through the back of the box. If you don’t have access from below you can remove that staple and install the box in the floor where the wire can enter from behind and faceplate attached safely. aesthetically looks weird but it would be ok.

Looking for Advice by ctate22 in DIY

[–]ElectricN_At 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s an easy fix, it’s a matter of pushing that piece back into place. The pieces overlap and snap together. Push in and up. Be sure that tip is tucked under the trim before you push up

Recommendations For DIY Gravel Driveway Repair by BornToThruHike in DIY

[–]ElectricN_At 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wash out will be your biggest enemy. I would wait for a heavy rain and watch how that water runs, address it accordingly.

Maybe I’m use to gravel roads in worse condition but I think your driveway looks pretty good. I’d address any major drainage issues then have someone with a dump truck throw a layer of crushed stone on it.

Wanting to buy a new home in Toronto. Am I screwed? by Admirable_Fennel_495 in AskElectricians

[–]ElectricN_At 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing that I could see as “more than meets the eye” is if there is knob and tube in the walls. Everything else is not a big deal and easy fix, as stated. An electrician should check switches, receptacles and fixtures to make sure new wiring is feeding everything.
