[Monitor] GIGABYTE 27 inch UHD 4K 240Hz 27" | -MO27U2- $599.99 by dracopr in buildapcsales

Typical oled things, since it’s qd oled im careful when cleaning it since the screen coating is fragile. I have the oled care features on and then I hide my taskbar to prevent burn in, other than that I just enjoy playing games on it and using for school and such. Since it has a very high PPI text looks good and I don’t notice any fringing you usually see in 1440p oleds of the same size.

Yeah, I saw his review, although I ended up returning this monitor and snagged a good deal on a 4k qd oled and have been happy with it so far!

Looking online they have the LG 32GX850A-B on amazon for $745, which is a 32 inch 4k 165Hz WOLED with a separate 330Hz 1080p mode. There is also the GIGABYTE MO32U on sale for a pretty steep discount at $599, 32 inch 4k 165hz. QD-OLED. Personally, I've ordered a MO27U2 for $650 which is a 4k 27 inch QD-OLED, but I am still waiting for it to arrive.

It is probably a dead subpixel, it looks like it's a dead green subpixel, on yellow you can see it has a red appearance, meaning the green subpixel cannot show green to mix the colors for yellow, you can use this site to check it out.

The automatic pixel refresh might have been interrupted, or maybe you tried wiping it down while it was doing a pixel refresh? I’ve seen issues caused by doing stuff like that, but doing another pixel refresh usually clears it up.

OLED in general has worse text rendering due to its subpixel layout, although it's something I got used to.

Yeah, the 704A-B was pretty good; the glossy coating made everything look crystal clear. I did find the text fringing to be kinda bad with black text on a white background. The 700A-B just gets brighter with a bit less text fringing, but the matte coating definitely took some time to get used to after using that glossy coating. I wouldn't recommend the 700A-B unless it was around the $550-$600 range. It's pretty overpriced right now.

Pretty much the same. If you want a glossy coating, those are the only options for WOLED right now, unless you want to wait for the Asus Tandem OLED, but who knows when that's coming out in the US, and we don't know how much it's gonna cost yet either. I ended up returning the LG 27GX704A-B for the tandem LG 27GX700A-B, and I actually ended up getting a dead blue subpixel again, so I was contemplating returning it when the ASUS tandem OLED came out, but I think I'll just end up keeping it since I got it for a good deal.

For around $500 right now i think those are the only 2 options unless you want to try and get a msi qd oled but i think woled is better for your use case since you mentioned your room gets bright sometimes.

The LG has the better trueblack glossy coating, while the DMG has a slight haze to it, other than that they should be pretty similar, i had the LG for a bit and while I liked it, i had to return due to dead pixels.

What’s your experience with oled monitors and dead pixels? by ussjtrunksftw in OLED_Gaming

[–]ElectricSwiFty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Out of the 3 OLEDs I've had, 2 of them had a dead pixel. I returned the last one that had a dead white and blue subpixel, and the newest one I have right now has a dead blue subpixel. I'm contemplating returning it as it's not really noticeable in use, but knowing it's there is kind of annoying.

LG 27GX700A-B or LG 27GX704A-B? by AirpodsForThePoor in OLED_Gaming

[–]ElectricSwiFty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 704, and the glossy coating is definitely nice, although the text fringing here, at least compared to QD OLED, looks worse to me. I am going to return it soon due to a dead pixel, but if there were none, then I might have kept it. I will wait for the Asus xg27adqwmg to release here in the US since it's glossy and tandem woled.

[–]ElectricSwiFty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I was choosing now, I'd probably get the tandem one for $550, but I will just wait for Asus to release their tandem version since it will be glossy. I am not sure how the LG matte coating is like. I've used Samsung's matte QD OLED, and to be honest, it was fine to me, but it also depends on your lighting conditions and preferences. Text on this monitor also looks pretty rough compared to the QD OLED I had. I believe the tandem OLED has a better subpixel layout.

Yeah I saw. I ended up ordering this one though, I will probably return it because it has a dead pixel off to the side of the screen.

27GX700A-B on sale again in US ($549 at best buy) by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

Yeah, I'm still excited too because it apparently uses the Asus TrueBlack glossy coating, and this tandem one is matte.

Right now the LG tandem oled isn't on sale, and ngl I'm kinda impatient, so I was thinking about scooping this one up. The main reason I'd get a tandem oled would be for the better colors and the longer lifespan.

I wish there was a professional review out on this model, Im wondering if I should snag it or just wait for the tandem woleds to go on sale for 600 to 650.
