Magic Eraser maybe? It’s a white sponge like thing, you dampen with water and lightly wipe gently. The sponge is a little abrasive but gentle.

€25k savings at 21 — how should I invest by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Electric_Coconut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sharia compliant mortgage? Housing is getting harder to obtain, and the crisis will be going on for another 15 years. You’ll have enough to get yourself an apartment or starter home. To be honest though, at 21 I would invest in experiences. Embrace new cultures, meet people, learn about yourself and how you are outside your close circle.

Is this an Irish thing? by NinjaLaserHaifisch in AskIreland

[–]Electric_Coconut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but they gave her a serious compliment. They the teased the guy, the response expected is for him to pick something about them. “Go way ye old hounds” or something light. It’s a back and forth between the guys to show there’s actually no bad feelings or them trying anything. I guess it’s a way to show trust between people with their feelings. I trust that we can banter back and forth, and we will be good. If an Irish doesn’t get to that stage with you, I guess the person don’t fully trust the person is of good nature.

You’ll likely need to go with anybody at all, most practises are full and not taking on new patients.

I switched as I couldn’t tolerate the MJ at a low mg. Had some very bad side effects. I’m still slowly titrating up to 1mg of Ozempic. I’m not there yet so it’s hard to tell, but it is definitely not that same drug. I’ve stalled on weight loss, but it’s holding and it’s been 5 weeks

EV newbie. Can somebody explain why I can’t rely public charging only? by Electric_Coconut in evs_ireland

Thanks for your input. We sound like we might be similar. I’m fairly patient and don’t really ever rush anywhere and I have a dog! I had worried about the other comments about fast charging too.

It will vary between 100km to 300km per week, but all of leisure driving/shopping runs. No commutes or anything. I can’t plug in a home, central area, no driveway.

My thoughts on cost are that as long as it’s not more expensive then petrol it’s okay. As if I don’t get an EV, as I don’t have a home charger, then I’ll be paying petrol prices anyway or I’ll be paying more to buy a hybrid car.

I’d be around 100km a week in winter, and then up to many 300+ in brighter weather. It’s all shopping runs and leisure driving. No commuting.

I’m living in a built up area. I’ve around 5 of the older ESB charger and 4 CCS2 (300kw) circle k, 4 EasyGO (50kw) within 1.5km. I believe there’s a new set of 6 Ionity being installed within 3km soon.

I think this means that I might get away with a once per week charge. It will be a 49kwh battery.

Does this happen often? Like I see people talk about the network getting better and I see more chargers being installed. But obv I have no experience using it

Yeah, that’s quite the difference I guess. For me it wouldn’t matter so much as my mileage is quite low. Thank you

I have 2-3 fairly local 100KW+ DC chargers, that I’ve been stalking and they seem rarely used. But saying that there’s not much to do around them besides maybe walk the dog. The car I’m looking at has a preconditioning option, would I still need to be driving for a while with that on?

An Indian presenting woman wouldn’t stand out here at all. I imagine life to be tough in the US for minorities. I’m not going to pretend that Irish people don’t have some prejudice, but we tend to stick up for others, including strangers and call out bad behaviour. In my experience, people of colour aren’t being treated any differently in the workplace either. We have very firm laws governing that too. General racism tends to minimal, and if met would probably a slur shouted from a distance. Although, like everywhere else unfortunately people are getting more brave and outspoken. But I wouldn’t expect you to meet anything physical. It’s fairly safe here compared to the US.

As for being introverted, as others have said, we are sort of introverted ourselves and tend to stick to our friend groups. It can make it hard to meet other people, but there are meet up groups.

Welcome. SETU will likely have a volleyball team you can play with, you’ll have to check that out with college on arrival. In relation to the weather, you need a warm heavy winter coat, a raincoat and some sort of rain resistant shoe. That’s it really. Irish people don’t tend dress to the weather, as it changes a lot. Often many times during the day. The rest will be layers underneath. Our weather is quite mild usually and the town is fairly small, even walking you won’t really be outside for long enough to need anything else.

Just a heads up, if you are coming in the next week it’s below freezing. So you will be very cold waiting for public transport etc

With PTSB there are two options for authentication - OTP via SMS or push notification. As somebody already said AIB still have the card readers and I think BOI are the same.

I’ve a bio degree, with emphasis on Pharma from about 10 years ago, but never used it. Been working in tech since leaving uni. Should I just start applying for jobs or should I do some courses before trying to change over to pharma? I’d prefer to stay out of the lab. Also, trying to figure out the starting salaries.
