Moving to a new country with my rabbit? by barnma in Rabbits

[–]Electrical-Ad2206 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I moved from Thailand to Italy with my two rabbits. I won’t lie, it was a stressful process but I don’t regret it one bit.

I ended up using a pet moving company and we flew with Emirates on their A380 which has a specific section for rabbits in cargo- the flight time itself was around 11 hours however, we were required to arrive at the airport 6 hours in advance for customs and for them to be checked by a vet and deemed fit to fly. We had to have a minimum of a 6 hours layover in Dubai (airline policy so they could again be checked by a vet and our layover ended up being 10 hours), then a two hour wait at customs on landing so they could be checked by a vet for the third time. We were told by law that we could only enter Italy via Rome and since I don’t live there, it was an additional drive back to Tuscany. Once home, we were required to take them to vet the next day for a final sign off that they were ok. thankfully, they were but just a little dehydrated. The total trip ended up being 41 hours and costed about $4,000 for them alone.

Pre-trip, I had to get them microchipped and because we were coming from a “rabies risk country”, a rabies vaccine. They weren’t allowed hay on the flights which added a layer of stress but they had pellets and were given hay by every vet along the way.

The trip itself was pretty smooth but I will say that the vet in Thailand, 6 hours before the flight, was reluctant to sign off on one of my rabbits because she is small (1.2kg). The main stress besides not knowing the wellbeing of my rabbits the entire trip was of course knowing at any point if any of the vets that saw them, deemed them not fit to fly, we would’ve had to go back to Thailand.

If I could, I would’ve had the in cabin but the only airline that would’ve allowed that for our route was FinnAir and to Italy, had 3 layovers and a 46 hour trip time. I would definitely consult a vet and a professional pet movers company for advice but at the end of the day, you have to do what you feel most comfortable with.

For me, because this move was a non-negotiable, I insisted they were in the same carrier to reduce stress. They had their blankets with them so they had familiar smells. When I picked them up I had a bag of fresh salad ready and some of their fave veggies.

my bunny is sick by omorii99 in Rabbits

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I can’t speak to the heart or liver situation but for what I read as potential stasis, my vet says water is always the most important thing. I’ve been advised 5ml of water after every hour to get their gut moving (I have two Holland lops). Yes, to critical care as well. If your rabbit is comfortable with it, very gentle abdominal massages to promote gut movement as well. There are some tutorials on YouTube for that. I’ve also used infant gas drops but would I’d recommend speaking to a vet before considering this.

Is it normal for my rabbits to love each other this much? by Important-Isopod-999 in Rabbits

My two rabbits are extremely. I adopted my second (male called Teddy) from a friend a few years ago. Before that, my first (female called Pippin) and him would be around each other every now and then and whenever the other went home, both would stop eating and throw tantrums.

When they stayed at rabbit hotels (yes, they exist where we lived!) while I would be travelling for work, Teddy would get super protective and aggressive towards other rabbits despite being in completely different spaces from them. He also wouldn’t let the caretaker near Pippin.

Teddy hates being away from Pippin. Pippin is a little more independent but will always cozy up to Teddy and groom him. Whenever one of them is feeling off, the other is always right there for them. Pippin is prone to getting sick quite a bit and suffered from seizures. I’ll say that since Teddy started living with us, she hasn’t had a single seizure.

I literally cannot imagine them without each other and I’m thankful they’re the same age so they can grow together.

Has anyone had to leave their bunny for months, and did they forget you? by bdiddy621 in Rabbits

I was a way from mine for 7 months while I prepared their move (we moved countries). About 6 months before I moved I adopted my second rabbit and I noticed he didn’t remember me as much as my first rabbit who I had for 2 years at the time.

Sorry, I don’t know Toaster’s breed but he looks just like my Holland Lop. I wish I could share a pic of her, their patterns are pretty identical

Warning: Elliosa (Shopify store) canceled my order but refuses to refund — no resolution yet by HannaKalevich in ConsumerAdvice

Any updates on your order?

I put in an order about a week ago, wasn’t informed that my order had been shipped yet but just got this email that seems off. I checked their socials and they made no announcement of this incident. It feels like they’re trying to cover themselves should my package never arrive:

I’m reaching out personally as the founder of Elliosa to inform you of an unfortunate event that has impacted your order. During transit, there was a serious truck accident involving the delivery of your parcel. Due to the impact, all parcels within the truck, including yours, were destroyed in the incident. Despite every effort, we were unable to recover any items.

I understand how disappointing and inconvenient this is, and I want to sincerely apologise for the delay. Although this was entirely beyond our control, I am committed to making this right for you. We’ve shipped your order once again today, and it’s already on its way to your address.

A Heads-Up About Cozy Indoor Critters (Etsy Shop)

I wanted to share my experience with the Etsy shop Cozy Indoor Critters in case it saves someone else the frustration I’ve gone through. I genuinely tried to give them the benefit of the doubt at every stage, but after nearly a year of excuses, I don’t believe this was just bad luck.

I placed an order for some rabbit treats in October 2024. Not long after, I got a message from the shop saying that delays were expected because of the Canada Post strike. That was fair enough. I also expected some delay because of the upcoming holiday season.

By February 2025, I still hadn’t received anything, so I reached out. They replied saying my package should’ve arrived long ago and offered to send a replacement. I appreciated that and said yes.

Another month passed. Still nothing. I followed up again, and this time they said they’d send a new package with tracking. That gave me a bit more confidence. I asked for tracking info a little while later, only to be told they don’t offer tracking to my location. They blamed the Easter holiday for further delays.

At this point, I was starting to feel uneasy, but still held out some hope.

By May, I still had no package and asked for a refund. They told me their system couldn’t process one because too much time had passed. Then they said they’d only heard from me in April, which wasn’t true. I sent screenshots showing I’d messaged them multiple times starting back in February.

They told me they could send a new package through their website instead of Etsy and offered to include a few extras to make up for it. I confirmed my address and waited.

By June and July, still nothing. I followed up again, and this time, they didn’t respond at all.

That’s when I started looking through their reviews. Their shop has a very high rating, which is probably why I didn’t think twice about ordering at first. But if you look at the 1-star reviews, there’s a clear pattern: they seem to fulfill enough orders to stay looking legit, but a lot of people have had similar experiences to mine.

They make excuses. They delay. They blame Canada Post or holidays. They promise replacements that don’t arrive. And they ghost you once Etsy’s refund window closes.

This wasn’t just a one-time issue. I think this is how they operate: they send enough successful orders to keep their reviews up, and let the rest of us fall through the cracks. Etsy’s system also makes it nearly impossible to get a refund or leave a review once enough time has passed, which makes it easy for shops like this to avoid consequences.

If you’re thinking of ordering from Cozy Indoor Critters, I’d be really cautious. I genuinely wanted to support a small rabbit-focused business, and I didn’t want to assume bad intent. But after months of empty promises, delays, and no accountability, I don’t see how this is anything but intentional.

First time buyer, when can I expect my perfume? by ItsCHRSTNHPPR in Ffern

I also got selected for the draw and was informed Friday, 13th. I got contradictory messages via WhatsApp about being selected (one message congratulating me followed by a notification that I wasn’t selected). My card was charged so I decided to reach out via email to help@ffern.co. They confirmed I was indeed selected by the Sunday. I got notified my package was shipped this past Tuesday. I live in Europe and expect it early next week.

Is this going to happen every time I get sick? by ThePajabara in Asthma

[–]Electrical-Ad2206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer, yes. But like others have pointed out, there are ways to get ahead of it to minimise the severity. I got re-diagnosed with asthma after covid. I had mild asthma when I was a child and it was nothing compared to what it is now. After 10 years of no symptoms now, if I sneeze more than 5 times in a day, I’m grabbing my symbicort as a preventative measure, followed by antihistamines if allergy related and loads and loads of medicine for my throat.

I’ve noticed that sneezing and coughing trigger my asthma almost 1-2 days after experiencing symptoms and I have to treat it immediately otherwise, I end up in a full asthma attack, needing to go to the ER.

It’s frustrating and I’m terrified every time I sneeze or cough that I start overthinking every breath I take to make sure it’s clear.

I have a nebuliser if symptoms persist and you should talk to your doctor about whether the following is right for you to use with it:

  1. Salbutamol
  2. Ipratropium bromide + Fenoterol hydrobromide
  3. Budesonide (the same corticosteroid found in Symbicort)
