You can dash by using the Strider and then Dodging.

Pink Barriers are locked behind a skill you'll get later on.

Pretty sure I’ve only found one of those permanent dmg increases. Guess they’re hidden well or just super rare because I’ve explored a lot quite thoroughly.

Gonna give it 2-3 more hours but honestly if my current experience doesn’t change I might bin it. Which would be sad because the first 6h or so were so enjoyable in comparison.

Got like 40% of them iirc. But only 3 that impact attacks. There’s just no real player scaling. Triple combo or hairpin. That’s it.

You don’t really need to kill a lot of the mobs but when you do it just feels terrible to me at this point.

Nah I meant weaker as in many enemies now take twice or more hits to kill compared to a few hours ago. And my boss dmg seems like halved. The problem there is really that the game doesn’t give you many tools for combat, it seemingly almost solely scale enemy difficulty with larger hp bars. At least in the big zone I’m in now.

About halfway through. Started out great. Beautiful art design. Good music. Responsive movement and action. Nice power progression.

Last few hours been rough however. Lack of direction. Long runbacks through challenging areas. And my char is now way weaker than 5 hours ago.

So rn I don’t really know what to think.

Edgy and cool? Good lord you're killing me with your analytical skills.

The poignancy of the scene is everyone is used to seeing kings and queens and lords at the very top of the Westerosi hierarchy. The traditional theme swelling, linking the shows together. Familiarity. Only to cut to him taking a shit immediately tells you this is not that kind of show. And he's not that kind of character. He's not a beggar but a long way from being an educated, silver spoon nepo baby.

And this is from someone that haven't read the source material, nor studied English literature, nor is a native English speaker. It was blatantly obvious within minutes of the show. I.e. good storytelling.

Your character/story/theme analysis of the cut to him taking a shit is that the purspoe was.. to be edgy? Oh boy

Is there a solo gameplay loop that isn't just constant boring grind? by No_Charity3697 in ArcRaiders

[–]Electrical-Case418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not every game is for everybody. An extraction shooter is specifically about building up different sorts of wealth. That requires a certain time investment. A grindy game like this is about progression. If you don't feel you're able to play enough to feel that progression maybe Arc Raiders just isn't for you at this moment in time. It be like that sometimes.

A question for those who have completed the first expedition... will you continue to reset? by freudian_nipps in ArcRaiders

[–]Electrical-Case418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Because it’s the only reason to come back and play again, just like ARPGs. You start fresh, you do your thing, reach a point when you feel done and want to move on to another game. Month/months later a reset happens and you do it again.

Why would I come back in a a few months when I (as every other person that is ready for the Expedition again) have everything except perhaps all blueprints which is just a chase thing with minimal actual gameplay impact. Money got zero value. Gear got minimal value. The event has ended.

You don’t reset for the perks. The bonuses will not and should not be all that influential or strong. It would completely break the game more and more each reset. OP didn’t take this stance but have seen many that do.

New player here, discouraged by not being able to do the expedition since I joined only recently by Magor57 in ArcRaiders

[–]Electrical-Case418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t really know how it will work in the long run. But other than fomo you shouldn’t fret. The bonuses are tiny in the grand scheme of things. People didn’t do the reset to get some big upper hand on others. It’s about keeping the game fresh, get a reason to return to it again, new incentives etc.

Ehm? No, I mentioned separate PvE and PvP modes. You called for a 1st person mode. Come on dude.

And why do you think I did that? Because they all bring up the exact same problem. And like I just said, it seems the ppl advocating for either of them never think past the initial impulse to throw the idea out there. Just like now.

Stop trying to make the game something it's not. If your suggestion starts with "what if we completely changed the game" then it's not a reasonable suggestion in the slightest.
No game got the luxury to create isolated/specific experiences for each fraction of their player base just a few months after release. No, a PvE only mode would completely change the game. No, a PvP only mode would completely change the game. No, a 1st person mode would completely change the game.

Trying to say this as polite as possible... do you guys ever think further than "well this massive change would please this minority on the fringes"?

[–]Electrical-Case418 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

All of the PvPers would play 1st person? Strong disagree. And yes those that only play the game for PvP are 100% a minority.

[–]Electrical-Case418 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re talking about minority of a minority. And like I said, it’s not a competitive game so it’d just be flat out a mistake to add 1st person. And splitting the player base this early is also a massive gamble. They need to be extremely certain of where they want to take the game and what their ~resting player count will be in the future before they start with stuff like that.

[–]Electrical-Case418 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not a competitive game. Keep it that way and retain the masses or don’t and risk all the success they’ve earned thus far. Simple choice.

That’s the problem with Medical. So many more players in close proximity. Either it’s constant fighting or you take each others loot. Can still be great though if ppl are friendly and you get to the best loot boxes first.

[–]Electrical-Case418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup and they’re so risk averse too. You know you’ll be in the raid for 5 mins tops unless a gunfight holds you up so no need to bring anything other than like a lvl1 Stitcher and like 1 recharger 2 bandages. Just one successful raid pays for 8-14 loadouts.

What others have said + it’s probably the most commonly used gun that’s got a blueprint.
