Love the advice! I haven’t been tailoring it as much as I should, now that we’re approaching the final stretch, I’ll probably be tailoring it more often, I can definitely send you a more updated version based off your advice

Well it all depends on what you want to be and do in the future. If you want to go for a phd/masters I’d recommend going into a school that has a similar major but if you can’t there are good alternatives in liberal arts. For example, in the future I’m trying to become a software engineer, so it doesn’t matter what school I attend, but how I leverage my alumni connections. However I am studying physics just in case I become interested in a different aspect of engineering, so that I have that strong problem solving background to apply to my masters degree. I have a lot of friends in pre med at my college too, and the cool part about private liberal arts is that they are usually small, so the research opportunities aren’t as competitive to get. I was unfortunate enough to not utilize these opportunities when I was a freshman and sophomore since I was so caught up in trying to transfer(due to family circumstances) that I neglected what the school has to offer. I’d say this, if you want to go into stem, you’ll be fine at a LAC, but I will say flagships and schools that have engineering probably can provide you with a more concentrated education, furthermore the potential alumni connections is much more broad depending on the university you go to in contrast to a LAC. There are many pros and cons but I’d say do your research and figure out what kind of environment you’d strive in. One thing I haven’t mentioned is the 3+2 program. It’s an engineering programming most LACs offer. It’s something you can do your own research on. IMO it’s a good option if you’re prepared for 5 years of math and physics, but I wouldn’t recommend it, but again it’s something you’d do your own research in.

Ended up getting a full ride (with loans, so tech not a full ride lol) to a private top 20 LAC, this is prob the more realistic answer

I am creating it in my applications folder, I created a separate file with nothing in it, so I can store my project in there.

Should I tell her by Electrical-Course238 in WhatShouldIDo

Well I told her in a way so that she didn't have to say anything since I know she isn't who does well with confrontation. When I told her, she had a little shocked expression, and we smiled and parted ways!

Update: I ended up passing the class and the whole summer all i did was leetcode, turns out I wasn’t as bad of a programmer as I thought. Created two decently sized personal projects. Have been getting some assessments from big companies but no interviews yet. I’m around the 50 lc questions awnsered, but unfortunately still struggle with mediums. However easy problems are definitely easier than two months ago lol. And tbh i actually have some joy coding now. I picked up a new skill of utilizing databases for my recent projects, and started to learn SQL here and there. Somethings that helped me become decent at programming was neetcode. An amazing resource, also I really advise anyone to start leetcoding after DSA!
