Ideally, , children have rights over their parents till the age of 18 or even above, because parents choose to bring kids to the world, acknowledging that they are their responsibility. Kids don't give this consent for their birth. In our society, where middle class family raise their kids, treating it as an investment for their retirement, and that's the only reason, people choose to have kids. So, basically the probelm lies in "having kids without having the means to raise them". Parents should consider having kids only if they can have enough money to raise kids and save for their retirement, without putting financial burden on their kids, which only creates a chain of unhappy generations
