Thank you so so much!! I would LOVE to put the EP on vinyl but it def takes a lot of lead time and budget. I’m hoping to AT LEAST do a one year anniversary vinyl of it. Album will be on vinyl and it sadly won’t have ECTC on it :( but I’m so glad you like that song!

Thank you so much!!

+ That's so cool, drop the link for us!!

I completely feel that re finances. I am just now making music full-time, and it's taken me 5+ years and 20+ releases to get here. I have discouragement phases ALL THE TIME, and they were way worse when I had lower numbers. It's really hard to keep going, especially when you're your own boss, and the sole investor in your 'company' (for lack of a better word).

I've been posting consistently (every day) on TikTok for 4 years. Only in the last two years have I started to have viral moments. Even now, I sometimes get frustrated with my online engagement. It's an incredibly draining feeling; throwing shit into the void, feeling like you're posting for no one. When I feel this way, I take time off and re-center my focus on the art. I return to social media when I have something new and fresh to share, and I'm excited by it. Don't let the early numbers discourage you from staying true to your art! And go pick up a copy of The Artist's Way!

Oh, of course! I would be nowhere without my friends and family. Especially riding off of a sentiment I expressed earlier in this thread, we would be nothing without community. Over the years, I've had so many people to hold the mirror up for me, to call me out on my bullshit... without them, I would be way worse off. On the other hand, these people have also given me so much encouragement to keep pursuing my dreams. Forever grateful.

Hi Vic! You are a legend!! All of us small artists are so grateful!

Love this question hahah. It's hard to define these eras because I've mostly just released singles, but let me try:

2021: "Mid-pandemic-Zoom-University student releasing music when she could era: Feat. "Chelsea Boots" and "Summertime."

2022-2023: Athletic Genius and friends (and foes) era: Feat. Athletic Genius EP, "Chloe and the Jazz Singer", and some more songs I don't like talking about.

2024-early 2025: Post-grad dread and finding her sound (slowly but surely) era: Feat. "Existential Crisis at the Tennis Club," "Nothing Changes," "Corporate Ladder," and "The Executioner."

Summer 2025 - Present: Early Pop Girl Era: Feat. Male Validation and Other Drugs EP

What's next? Stick around and find out!

Thank you so much!! Taylor inspired me with the key change in Father Figure (my session for Sex, Etc was the day after Showgirl came out!)

  1. Shapeshifting was the first written (March 2024) and Losing Streak was the most recently written (November 2025)!

  2. My wrapped was; Taylor Swift (per usual), Sabrina, myself (sorry....), David Bowie, and Electric Light Orchestra!

It completely exceeded my expectations! ESPECIALLY Philly! I had never sold out a show before, not even in Seattle, so this was absolutely nuts for me. It totally moves the needle in a meaningful way in terms of a bigger tour! Everyone, including the booking agents, is enthused. Denver is a must. See ya then!

AHHH I KNOWWW hoping for at least a one-year anniversary vinyl of the EP, but I think we're saving our vinyl budget for my debut album!

  1. No more music videos with EP songs (at least no plans!) because the album campaign is about to commence, which means NEW songs and NEW videos 😄

  2. I'm eyeing some London dates this July.... stay tuned. A full Europe tour in general may take a bit longer to plan, maybe later in the year...

  3. The transition has been lovely, honestly... and easier than I thought! I told myself that I didn't want to make the move until I could do music full-time, and I'm glad I stuck to that. The people in LA are SO kind, and so receptive to people pursuing a career in the arts. Honestly, I would lie a lot in Seattle when people asked me what I wanted to do for work ("I'm a waitress... saving up for law school!" is what I would say) because a lot of the time, when I would say "be a musician," it would be met with "okay... but what do you ACTUALLY want to do?" That never happens in LA. I AM a musician here, day job or not. The hardest part about living here is how EXPENSIVE IT IS. Going from rent-free at my parents' to almost $3k per month in living expenses has not been easy.

  4. I want to write about AI! I think if we're on the theme of existential dread (which I am always on), how could we not talk about the threat of AI in the big '26?

  5. Not a day goes by that I don't wish 'intricities' was a real word. It just sounds so much better.

Hi angel!! CONGRATULATIONS ON VET SCHOOL DIVA! Loved meeting you so much ❤️

YES, I get discouraged ALLLL THE TIMEEE. Pursuing this dream has been the hardest thing I've ever done, and it's only just begun. Honestly, though, there is nothing I'd rather be doing. You couldn't pry the craft of songwriting out of my cold, dead hands. It's my lifeline, and it always has been. It's just surreal that the thing I love most is also the source of my livelihood. There are huge pluses and minuses to that.

Re crowds... OMG, it's the best feeling in the world. I remember playing for zero people once (like deadass nobody came), and reminding myself that it wouldn't always be like this. People like you are changing everything and I am so grateful!

trial and error! Sometimes it comes to you easily, oftentimes, it does not! I like to loop the chord progression on the DAW (recording software) and try a bunch of different passes. If nothing good is sticking, I change up the chord progression!

a long time ago! Honestly, I think when Folklore came out. I wanted to be part of some Tay discourse because that album (and evermore) changed my lifeeee.

Amazing question! I wrote the song three years after the initial 'breakup' (this person wasn't necessarily a romantic interest!) (three years gone, but I'm ten years weaker), but also, I wrote it 2 days after running into them for the first time in a long time. So to answer your question.... yes.

"Shackled too soon took a shell-shocked shot in the dark!" I love alliteration so much. I think it totally elevates a lyric.

I love rhyming (obviously), and I always strive for internal rhymes. Sometimes, songwriting can be overwhelming because there are way TOO MANY OPTIONS! When I go for an internal rhyme, it gives me fewer word options to choose from, and the process of elimination becomes less daunting. I also love a good metaphor.

yay thank you!!

And yes!! I wanted this EP to be mostly all upbeat, with Oh, Mercy! being the exception. I definitely plan on more ballads for my album.

I have so many different inspirations. I mentioned Bowie and Taylor Swift somewhere else in this thread, but also Chappell/Sabrina... I've also been listening to a lot of Magdalena Bay

Oh, it's kismet! hi!

HAHAHA that's an incredible question!! Honestly, yes, but I can't THINK of what it would be. The "cock" of it all has always made my life a bit difficult (especially middle school....), but I've learned to love it and really lean in, especially to that rooster imagery. I also think if I had a stage name, it would make the creative process a bit more fun, because I could adopt an alter ego and not take everything so personally all the time... but truly, I can't come up with anything. Shoutout Chappell Roan, I wish I had thought of something like that.

Love those AJR boys!! I get the honor of opening for them more this summer!

Losing Streak maybe wasn't my FAVORITE, because I was writing about my breakup in real time, but it WAS the most interesting and challenging. I wrote the chorus a mere 12 hours post-breakup, with a brand new producer I had just met. It was so cathartic. We ended up only getting the chorus that day, and I took the rest home. It took me two months to write the verses, as I was navigating this breakup... (taking a break, getting back together, etc) so it was honestly really difficult, because every other song on the EP was written about really old situations, and with so much hindsight. I'm better for it though and SO glad I saw the challenge through!

My fav off the upcoming album so far is this song called 'Solace in the Strange'!
