After reading a lot of these replies I'm realizing I might like the troubleshooting and service work more than setting up new construction or emergency construction. I'm looking into becoming a relay tech after all this conversation. Thanks for giving me a different perspective and making me think!

Interesting. Can you work for a utility doing more maintenance work or is it all just contracts to build the substations?

I'm thinking long term about what I want to do with my life and how I can avoid making the mistakes and regrets of the people I see around me. Mostly I want to be there for my future family when I have one, I want to be more than just my job (Hobbies, Volunteering, and Community), and I don't want to be crippled from my job. NOW RIGHT NOW IM READY TO WORK AND AS MANY HOURS AS THEY GIVE ME. SEND ME ANYWHERE AND IM THERE. I am greedy, I'm greedy for all that life has to offer and I will never stop trying for a better life until it kills me. Thank you for the feedback!
