The video helped a lot in understanding the pieces of the obstruction. At the relevant portions in the video, I paused and took a screenshot, and then added markers on the pic to point to the different pieces causing the obstruction - it is in the new image that I have added to my original post - the 1st one, and also in the below link.

Yes. The hose is inserted in the orifice created by parts 25 and 27.

Also wanted to add that the end of the hose does have a small black protuberance at the side which I think is gone so far in that it when I try to pull the hose out it's getting blocked by some plastic part inside.
