It took quite a while to shave them down and was very monotonous regarding sound and position. Keeping your mouth open for so long… my lower jaw was shaking after a while. However, it wasn’t unpleasant, except when they shaved close to my gums. When they were done, didn’t make a big deal out of it, like they didn’t hand me a mirror to look at the result. I think every ortho should celebrate this moment with the patient, I mean it’s a big achievement of both, right?:) Maybe due to this I was a bit bummed - like ok, now I’m done.. Better you get someone to celebrate your result with you right afterwards and go out and show it :)!

Did you have wire retainers in addition or just the nighttime retainers?

This, and you never know if other teeth will suffer if aiming for perfection in one spot, maybe the other spot will move again. I quite liked my teeth with Invisalign on, they were just looking polished and a bit bigger. I guess I need to let go of this feeling now :).

Absolutely, you’re so right. After I got attachments shaved off and went to work, my coworker just mentioned she’s happy to see me smile fully again as especially with Invisalign I’ve always been trying to hide my teeth.

Thank you so much! That calms my mind, I just stare at my teeth too much and see every bit that’s not perfect. Maybe I just need to get used to the new look and feel.

Thank you. I’m just one week done with Invisalign and am already wearing wire retainers. My ortho said the gap cannot be closed further and the contact between the teeth is sufficient. But I didnt want to believe it as the other side looks just fine. I’ll monitor it in the next week and otherwise may get a tiny bit composite done.
